It is, indeed, the infamous "Spirit Catcher". Remember John rolling his eyes when she brought that thing in?

I actually made a comic book that spoofed the whole "Destiny Rules" doc and sent copies out to each band member. Stevie LOVED it . The Spirit Catcher had a big part in my comic book.

Jamie
LOL!!! No I'm not that good. I was taking screen capes from the trailer and I just noticed it then!! WOW awesome! I'd loove the see that comic book!! And Stevie loved it??

And Wide Sargasso Sea is very Joan of Arc to me. I can hear elements of the demo in there. The vocal, perhaps. Anyone agree?
Don't be disappointed about any lack of piano in Moonlight, because there isn't any.

I just re-checked the notes I took when I heard the song in it's entirety in San Diego last month, and I scribbled down, "centered around piano". Piano is definitely in the song, it's just wasn't in the 30 seconds or so of this Sizzle Reel.

I have tried to post various pics here before with no luck. And even if I did somehow post it, I think it would be hard to read the lettering, because it's comic book format.

Sucks cuz I think you guys would crack up.

Default My 2 cents...

I'm a little late to the game as far as my opinion of the sizzle reel, but here goes...

It appears that they had a shoestring budget to work with. That being said, I think they have done an AMAZING job with their limited resources. All the sets, land & seascapes look out of this world! And boy, Stevie's house is exquisite (but then I'd expect nothing less ) and the soft lighting on everyone's faces (especially Sharon & Lori) make the "Moonlight" portion of this documentary very creepy and atmospheric. LOVE IT!

The songs - OMG, I think I'm gonna love "Moonlight", "Wide Sargasso Sea" and "Italian Summer", if in fact those are the actual songs we got to hear. I was never impressed with the demo of "Secret Love" but was blown away by the new version...so I thought it might be the same with "Annabel Lee". I've always loathed the demo. After hearing the snippit on the trailer, my opinion hasn't really changed that much. I'm still not impressed. Of course that might change once I hear the full song, but time will tell.

Also, I woke up this morning with the string arrangement to "Italian Summer" running through my head. It's infectious...and that last note she holds for 4 measures is incredible. Those two things combined gave me goosebumps.

I'm loving what seems to be a recurring theme of "mirrored" imagery (the horse, the girls, Stevie herself) and also the Edgar Allan Poe stuff. I wonder if that will be a thread throughout the entire documentary or just in the Annabel Lee portion. I really can't wait for this album, and seeing this reel makes me EVEN MORE anxious to watch the documentary.

Do you guys think this could be Stevie's "Wall", "Quadrophenia", "Rattle & Hum" or any number of kick ass rock movie/documentary/concept films?

Maybe. There are certainly tons of concepts running through this album. It's all over the place theme-wise, and it seems to tackle really big themes.

WOW, I have watched this sizzle video several times now, it literally gives me chills everytime I watch it! That rarely happens to me. Just these snippets of on this video move me, her music always has. She has a special gift, that through her music, she is able to touch people and affect them. I just love her!

The drawing was done by Christine, wasn't it?

I've never heard that before. I thought it was done by either Stevie or Lindsey. The idea for the album cover was Lindsey's, based on the movie promo pic for Double Suicide.

i've always LOVED the bottom half of that" purple rain" dress (the top half, so-so, but it was the 80's after all). after i watched the trailer i was picturing them all going through her closet preparing for the video. that must have been fun.

so no official word on if her niece was one of the fire dancers in the videos?
