It's those intresting, sometimes cryptic, hard to understand at times lyrics I want and expect from Stevie, And I'm glad in this very small sampling of the album we still have lots of ecamples of those types of lyrics. And Smoke and fire and the elements almost having human qualities, that's Stevie writing. I was petrified when I heard she actually wrote the lyrics to Cheaper then Free, and am thrilled the rest of the album isn't full of such awful lyrics.

Well, after 20+ pages I don't have much to add other than I f*cking love it. I'm in full Chiffonhead mode like I haven't been in a long time.

So we are all complaining about one video not being released yet, and she did lots of clips from many songs.. if you be cool if she did like Beyoncé, where she made a video to almost all the songs on the CD and released a Video Album. Blondie & Annie Lennox did that too...

Thank you for that! Just going on that little bit, I don't get all the negativity about the song? I haven't heard a wail like that from our girl since the 'Taaaaaake me home' on the original Stand Back...so excited!!!

Sorry, I'm getting a bit confused with all the posts. Can someone who has heard the tracks tell me which ones are in the video? Obviously Annabell Lee is second and I think I know what the others are but what plays and when? I'm sure the "smoke and the fire" one is Italian Summer but what's the first and last ones? You just had to fallllll...I love that.
The whole thing is like an extra Gothic Moulin Rouge! - brilliant!

Thanks - that makes much more sense! I got a bit confused thinking that was Italian Summer but the lyrics did sound more like the events, or at least influence, of Wide Sragasso Sea (novel).

I've pre-ordered the album on amazon.com and it has an expected delivery date of between 13-25 May - bah! I think I may have to boycott The Ledge for those few weeks until I get the album because I couldn't stand reading about it all from May 3rd onwards and still be waiting for my copy!

What I'm wondering about that is does she stop and read poetry a few times throughout the song. Now that would be different. Critic already said this album was poetic. That would be one way of making your poetry to stand. To stop a real rock song and just read it and tell parts of the story.

After another listen this morning I realize the only song i'm not liking is Italian Summer. Moonlight and Annabel Lee have grown on me! And Wide Sagasso Sea I liked probably as soon as I heard it! Can't wait!
