The man is 60something years old. The flu could kill a person that age, even if they're healthy as a horse.

You judgemental? No!

You have obviously never been to Lauderdale then. There is more money there than...well you know. Yachts, huge houses everywhere. I would definitley say that the average earnings there are higher than most areas in the country. And I would say that the average income in FtL is higher than in Miami.

You are correct. I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 8 years and while there are some poor areas, there's also an abundance of wealthy ones.

I didn't say FTL was a ghetto. I just said that it didn't strike me as being particularly upscale ala Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Miami Beach, etc. Yes, there appear to be some well manicured developments here and there... but in general it seemed a bit frumpy, compared to its more flamboyant neighbor to the south. After driving around a bit and walking by some realtor office windows, the prices seem shockingly affordable. The jaded New Yorker that I am, I just can't believe you can buy a house for under $200,000 that isn't half bad. That just boggles my senses. And for $500,000 you could get a house on the water. Good grief. There are plenty of studio apartments in NY for over $500,000.

BTW, despite the fiasco, I actually had a great weekend in FTL. The weather couldn't have been better. No offense, but if opening night was in Detroit and they canceled...

Rod better recover by the end of March – I’m seeing the Montreal (April 1) show!

On the subject of faked illnesses (not that Rod is faking, as far as we know that is ), Janet Jackson supposedly pulled such a stunt in 2008.

Tickets for her shows were apparently not selling well, and she needed an excuse to pull out. When she got to Montreal, she went to the hospital for a check-up, and she was able to convince the doctor on duty she was indeed sick. The concert that very night was canceled, and subsequently the whole tour.

Needless to say, there was a lot of press accusing Janet of faking so she could pull out of a money losing tour with her head still held high.

Well, I hope Rod is actually sick and that he gets better (fast!), and that they bother to reschedule the Florida show for the disappointed folks who are going.

Gotcha...I didnt mean to come across as saying you were referring to it as a ghetto or anything. It is just a nice area...that whole part of Florida is. Hope you enjoyed yourself.

I am thinking the FLU is for real, else why not come up with a real doosey??

gleaning from Lindsey's crew...

"the truck with all our equipment hit an ELK last night!"
"the sound system sucks!"
"that woman is a beotch!"

I wonder if 3/23 will happen. and I wonder how Rod and Stevie really get along.

Thumbs up well.

I think Rod saw Stevie's rehearsal and realized how he should have a least practiced a bit.. I mean, he can't be showed up by the opening act..

jk.. here's to a speedy recover, Mr. Stewart. the flu does suck..

I've actually wondered if she didn't just get totally freaked out and insist on more rehearsal...
