I believe A LOT of people on this board favor Tusk over Rumours, and I'm certainly one of them. I love the live version of not that funny, and in my opinion those are the best stevie and christine songs on any Fleetwood Mac album. I love Over and Over from Christine, and ALL of Stevie's songs are really the best of the best. Lindsey's songs are wacky, but I love them too. It is such a great album!

IMO, Rumours has Lindsey's best songs, White album has Stevie's, and Tusk has Christine's.
But Rumours has the best mix & balance (and vibe), so it's my favorite. - Jake

You are not alone! Tusk is effin brilliant! I love Rumours equally as well but they are so different. Depends on my mood as to which is better.
Now that I think of it, If I were left on a deserted Island and could pick only one album...it would be Tusk without a second thought. OK YOU are on a deserted island. Which FM ALBUM? (THIS SHOULD BE A THREAD I GUESS) ![]() Last edited by secondhandchain; 05-13-2003 at 11:49 PM.. |

of course - most Fleetwood Mac fans that are "in it" for the musicianship prefer Tusk over all other albums.
i think it was the creative pinnacle of the band as a whole i know a lot of people who don't like Fleetwood Mac that much but think Tusk is a brilliant album. for me their least commercial work has always been my favorite. i tend to not like the singles , and love the album tracks that never get played (i.e. I love Oh Daddy and hate Don't Stop) (love Storms and That's Alright and would rather never hear Rhiannon in concert ever again). Tusk was a very brave album. I wish they had continued in that vein for Mirage and Tango |

I can't choose between Rumours/Tusk/Tango as fave album, I love them all equally, but yeah, Tusk is underrated by the public out there. It's ALL about Rumours this and Rumours that. YES, that album is GREATNESS too, but open your mind/ears to their OTHER albums, people!!!! I may be adding SYW to those three as fave FM album...geez...I have never been a good chooser!!!

I've always preferred Tusk. And a very accomplished musician/guitarist friend, who HATES anything mainstream, considers Tusk "brilliant and "a work of genius".
But this is also the same guy who, when he heard Big Love on The Dance CD, said to me: "I dream of playing guitar like that." Anyway, I maintain my vote for Tusk. I think it's the closest they came to a sublime work of art. But then, Rumours may be more cohesive. I'm being wishy-washy, aren't I? But that's my privilege as an FM fan! ![]()

I most definitely prefer Tusk over Rumours.
Don't get me wrong, I adore Rumours....I just think Tusk has some of Stevie (and Chris's) VERY best work on it...and it just speaks to me. ~Renae |
