I paid 125 bucks to see my fave band in the world...I'm gonna do what I want, and I AM respectful of people thank you very much.

That happened to us at The Dance concert in Philly (Camden). I was pissed because all we'd done was stand - no noise or anything, and all the rows ahead of us were standing, too. We couldn't see, otherwise!

I HOPE my row sits the hell down. Because that's what I'll be doing the WHOLE time. I personally enjoy a show better sitting down. What's with you people and standing up. Is it that important to dance around like idiots. I'm going to SEE and HEAR THE BAND. I'm not going to a dance recital. Maybe when i go to a football game alot of rowdiness is all right, but not for the event of my life.

But, I really always try to be considerate; it is hard however, when everyone is standing and I, therefore, have to stand as well. I have spent many a concert turned sideways to allow people behind me to have a fighting chance to see

This concert I was lucky as I got to sit in the 4th row but to the side going up. Everyone could stand or sit and no one's view was obstructed....this was nice as I remember standing when people around me were sitting, and I was looking to see if people could see.
I was worried cause I remember my Dance concert...I was on floor 12th row..and was so happy....until the show started and there were two guys in front of me who were sooooooooo tall. I could not see much when we stood, which was most of the show. I remember crying that night so disappointed.
So yes its nice to be considerate of others, but then once again when you think of the money spent, I can see the point on doing what you want.
I think this is a topic that will never be solved.

I paid to see and hear THE BAND (whoever it is) and not YOU. And trust me, no one else wants to hear you either. Something about concert going that brings out the self-entitlement psychosis in some people.

I honestly believe that they feed off the energy of the audience. I went to both DC and Pittsburgh ( I was in the front row at Pittsburgh) and I swear they had a better night in Pittsburgh just because it was a better crowd. I was about 4 seats away from being directly in front of Stevie, and I never sat down the entire time and neither did anyone else around me or behind me. We were having a blast and so was the band. The DC crowd sat for a great deal more of the show and I think the band actually took note. But if you like to sit, then sit down! Just don't get pissed if other people don't want to, unless they're like 7 feet tall and 400 pounds and you can't see a damn thing because they're blocking the view. That's not cool.

Yeah, hmm...God forbid people have fun. That's just not the thing to do at a concert. But you know what, SomethingofaDreamer is right. The Pittsburgh show gained more and more energy as the crowd stood and cheered. I know if I were in a rock and roll band, I would NOT want people sitting, and I would honestly take offense if they were. Peacekeeper seemed to be just plain Peacekeeper until Lindsey saw how excited I was to be there, and THAT'S the truth. I think it's insulting to sit there and call me "like a 4 year old retard" just because the band is creating so much adrenaline in me that I want to stand. I actually just watched The Dance yesterday, and it seemed rather dull with the audience sitting, especially during a song like I'm So Afraid.

Anyway, I'm not going to keep arguing and make this into a 150 post thread that needs closed. My intention was NOT to start an argument...I was simply wondering HOW people, who are obviously huge enough fans to pay $125 for a floor seat, could not be that excited. I didn't know it'd begin to erupt a civil war.

By the way SomethingofaDreamer, WHERE in the front row were you? You probably saw me as well as I saw you.

Janine and I were in the fifth row tonight in Cleveland, and couldn't believe all the people sitting down. There was one point (during Beatiful Child) that we were literally the only ones left standing. Someone behind us kept bugging us to sit, and we finally did for the end of "Beautiful Child", but we were immediately up again after that.

I look at it this way: if you really want to sit, don't buy floor seats, especially those so close to the stage, where the energy level is most definitely higher.

I sit during the very low key songs, but otherwise, I am amped up and moving. That is one reason I almost always get pit seats. It is usually the maniacs who have to be up close, and we are so excited we can't contain ourselves. I guess it's just different personality types. I am happy to sit down and read for four hours, but am just as likely to be in the pool, lifting weights, or out running a few miles. Music makes me move. When amped up, I express it physically. Last month, I was drug to see Bon Jovi (AGAIN), and even though I am not a huge fan, I got into the animal scene of it. I yelled, danced, sang along, and took off my shirt. Nothing thrown at me, though I did get groped. Guess I am an animal, and animals belong in the pit !

I am so glad to see other people with the same complaint.

I had 5th row seat for Cleveland and was so excited to be so close to Stevie. All the other people up in the front were sitting except for Josh and I. Then the people behind us had the nerve to tell us to sit down and that I could enjoy the show just the same sitting down

I didn't wait 7 years and pay $125 to sit while the best band in the world played 15ft from me.

I was at the Cleveland show in row RR on the floor. I was suprised that everyone sat down when Come started. I think that most people were not familiar with the song. Once the killer guitar playing started the whole floor stood up again.

I also try to be considerate to others & if the rows in front of me are sitting then I will sit also. At this show I sat only twice: once when Come started & during Beautiful Child.

I agree that during the higher energy songs that the band feeds off of our energy as well. How do you think they would feel if during Stand Back, Rhiannon, Come, ISA, everyone just sat there and politely applauded. It would SUCK!

Re; the energy comment...

I was at a private Stevie show in 2000. Before she went into GDW, she spoke of how each song is unique each time its played, because Stevie "feels" the audience energy and it helps create the mood for the night. So she said, "This is YOUR Rhiannon, not just my Rhiannon". they DO feel the energy and I feel can get more into the show if the audience was more energetic. Most musicians Ive been privlidged to see live are the same.
