Default Gwyneth Sings Legendary Song: Beautiful or Fail?

From Huffington Post: Entertainment section

Gwyneth Paltrow is really taking this music business seriously.

The "Country Strong" singer, who performed "Coming Home" from her movie at the Oscars, is returning to "Glee" for a second run of guest appearances. Playing a sex-ed substitute, Gwyneth won't just be teaching about the birds and the bees for flirting with Matthew Morrison -- she'll be busting out the pipes, too.

Gwyneth sings lead in a cover of "Landslide," the iconic Stevie Nicks song. Listen and, in the comments, tell us how you think she did

I am a Gwyneth fan, but really, this is nothing spectacular. There was really no point in doing it if they weren't going to do something great.

I'd rather have heard a much more harmony-infused version from the kids. That would've sounded different and interesting.

I didn't know Gwyneth Paltrow was on the TV show Glee.

Eh . . . you live & learn.

As with Tom Cruise, I avoid all things Gwyneth Paltrow. For Stevie-ness, >sigh< I guess I will have to break my rule. Oh, Stevie...

Internet memes are mildy annoying.

I love Gwynneth - she's one of my favorite actresses, even though she isn't really that great of an actress. I do think it's odd that she's been guesting on Glee (though I love her character); she's an Academy Award winning actress after all - I mean it would be like Nicole Kidman showing up on Two And A Half Men, but I guess if she enjoys it... As long as she doesn't show up on any of her husband's albums, I'm ok with her newfound singing career.

I have not listened to Landslide yet - I'll wait to hear it on the show.

She has a good voice and has sung this song well. However, it's a huge disappoinment. A cover of a cover? She just redid Natalia Maines vocals verbatim. There is nothing new or special about this.

Fail. Not because there is anything wrong with her singing, but it is just an un-original cover of an already overdone song.

Completely unoriginal, completely lacking emotion. Therefore, fail.
