Watching someone you love suffer through chemotherapy is heart wrenching. I'm already feeling very Shirley MacLaine-ish (GIVE HER THE SHOT!) and we're only in the first round.

My mother is amazing and will get through this, but man it is tough.

I know precisely what you're going through. I used to go along with my Grandfather to his chemo treatments when I was a teenager. I'll never forget the smell of chemo coming out of his pores. What a barbaric treatment . But at least your Mother has you, Jannie... I can't imagine going through that alone. It has to be terrifying enough surrounded by your loved ones.

Jannie, I'm glad your mom has you there with her. I would not want to go through that alone.
Jannie, how is your back feeling? Did you over exercise on the first day? Have you continued?

I exercised that first day but haven't gone back since. My back pain cleared up quickly- I have very strong medication on hand for emergencies. I just haven't been able to figure out how to make the gym fit into my schedule again. To go to the gym before work, I need to get up at 5am. I did just that for over a year, so I know it's possible. I need to find a way to force myself to do it for at least a month.

My mom has been such a trooper. Today the mouth sores popped up and she could hardly talk. Thank God I have a wonderful pharmacist who suggested a combination of mylanta and liquid benadryl mouth rinse. Worked like a charm!

Your Mom is so lucky to have you there for her. I'm sending all the positive energy I can muster, your way.

Sending positive thoughts to you and your mother, Jannie. As hard as it is, just try to hang in there.

I hope your mom gets through it and my thoughts are with you. Besides, I can relate to having a loved one in the hospital, which happened to me recently.

On a lighter note, I just found out today that I shouldn't eat lunch on my lap anymore . I was in the Sci Fi Forum, was about to eat lunch, and put my drink on the floor. Somehow, the whole thing toppled over and now the carpet is wet and sticky from Dr Pepper (and I have learned that i should eat at a table for now on )

TV and laptop in the kitchen. Once I bought a small TV, and put it on top of the refrigerator, I've eaten at the table, ever since!

I think you look nothing like her...

But I cannot imagine why you think it'd be a bad thing if you did? I think she's one of the most beautiful women in show business.
