RTTG is my favorite song on the album. If they MUST get rid of it, to me the only acceptable alternatives would be Thrown Down (the fact it's not being performed suggests it won't be a single, which is STUPID. It's the one song on the album that everybody seems to like), EFO (it's new and fast-tempo), Seven Wonders (it's from her later FM catalog), or (we should be so lucky) Fireflies.
But I still want RTTG back.
I'm guessing that it's dropped because it's too much strain on her voice or they want a more even split between Stevie & Lindsey songs. The only other possibility I can think of is that the song evokes feelings of bitterness/hurt the way recent posts suggest Sara does, so she doesn't want to do it live anymore. But I don't think that that's it. I mean, if she can bring herself to do Goodbye Baby...

I think an acceptable replacement would be Don't Let Me Down Again. I'm kinda bummed that they're not doing that one.

Yep. They dropped this awesome song from the set list in Pittsburgh. I was in row 2, and RTTG was on setlist that a security guy showed me (I don't know why he had it), but then they didn't play it, much to my disappointment. They played Second Hand News instead, which really got the crowd going!

I just went to the link to hear the live version of RTTG & if they don't play it again, they're nuts.

Yeah but RTTG has that cheesey coating of Other Side Of The Mirror-esque 80's bloat and I think they want to keep the set as fresh as possible. Second Hand News is a welcome replacement - it will never sound dated and it had been out of the set list for so long - until 97.

The bigger question is where the hell has Sara gone? I'll never understand why Stevie doesn't think it comes off well on stage. I thought it was gorgeous during the Tusk tour and Lindsey's guitar was like butter.

What we're guessing on the Stevie board is that Don Henley's publicized theory (that Sara refers to her abortion) makes her reluctant to perform it again.

She and the others sound fantastic and very rocking on the RTTG that I heard from the first live show that has been posted. Will the June 3, 2003 Atlanta show EVER get here!!!!

I heard Stevie didnt want to do Sara again because it sounded horrible with the acoustic / electric sound to it. I have several live versions of Sara though and find it a delightful song live.

I really want to hear RTTG... "fingers crossed" it will come back on the list...
