I think somebody else posted this on the Lindsey board, but I did too anyway, so here's just my basic version for you Mich:

Verse: Bb C Bb C Bb etc

Chorus: F Gm F(rooted in A) Bb C Dm F(rooted in A) Bb

Sorry for the "F rooted in A" thing but I'm not sure if i know the xact term for that (I'm thinking 3rd inversion??) or whether you do either, so hopefully that makes some sense.

How about the chords for Illume?
I bet they are pretty easy to pick out but I'm not good at that kind of thing..

Oh thanks Carne. Well there you go - I seem to be getting dumber with each passing week
I just tested Am and yes it works just as fine as my convoluted "F rooted in A".

I guess we should do up a definitive chord listing for the songs where everyone chips in to make it the best possible. I've got to go watch Curb Your Enthusiasm in a sec (my favourite show and they put it on at 11:40pm!! Damn that David and his foul mouth!) but here's my 2 cents on illume in the mean time. In fact just about anything goes for Illume. If you listen to John, he's all over the place. There doesn't even necessarily need to be a bass line change for the song to still work. Hence without the vocal it doesn't translate that magnificently to the piano ... or that's 90% likely to just be thanks to my piano nonskills.

D C Em

You know what? Just play anything as long as it resolves back to Em. That's what John seems to be doing.

I think you do the inversion only if you're in the Southern Hemisphere.

Has anyone figured out the chords to "Destiny Rules" and "Running Through the Garden"...?? I would love to have these.

And in the verses of SYW I think I'm hearing the addition of Dm:
4/4: (Bb)234 (C)2 (Dm)4

Hmmm... Haven't noticed. Is it a passing D note maybe? Or something like it? Of course, I didn't spend too much time on it. Once I got he Bb and F and saw that it worked, I stuck with it.

It's kinda like the intro and first part of the verses in What's So Funny 'bout Peace Love and Understanding. If you keep going from G to C and back, you're Ok, but if you add a passing D between G and C, it rings truer to the melody.

I've also found that adding little embellishments with suspended chords in Save Me a Place makes it sound more interesting. Fabulous song, but when it's just you and your guitar, well, it loses something.

Let's keep this thread going to add more tabs to songs.

Well we were just giving the basic outline - obviously you can flesh it out as you like. I'm very busy now with revision, but seeing as you have a good ear, I'll just give you the very basics which you can expand on, and if you want it more elaborate then please let me know and I will have a chance tomorrow arvo.

RTTG (Eb m)
Verse: Ebm - B - C# - Ebm
Chorus: (So you run towards..) Gb - B - C# - Ebm
(Never did I mean to..) Ebm - B - C# - Ebm

DR (Eb m)
Verse: Ebm - C# - Ebm
Chorus: B - C# etc
Outro - Ebm - C#(rooted in Fm) - B - C#

BTW with the SYW verse thing - rather than add the Dm I would add Am. Same notes really, just different base note, and more like what John plays (from what I hear).

Default Hey Mich

I believe it goes a little something like this..

Verse: (...world coming to..) F
(..say isn't true....) Am
(...plant no seed..) Dm
(...only greed..) Bb
etc

Chorus: (Whats the world..) C
(..coming to) F
(..aah) C
(..coming to) F
(..aah) Bb
(..go-)F(-one to the..) Dm
(..moon) C
(..coming to.) F

Bridge: (Jump right off..) Dm
(Ocean) F
repeat
(..I dont call for ..) Gm
(..reser-) Am (-vation) Bb
(..turn me down) Am (..inside out) Bb

etc
