Smile SPOILER: Pittsburgh Perfection

OH.MY.GOD.

I just got in from the show in Pittsburgh...and I am nothing short of speechless!!! It was -- without question -- the best FM show I have ever seen (even topping the wonderful Dance concert).

My friend and I had second row seats and they were RIGHT IN FRONT of Stevie's microphone! I just kept mumbling that I didn't "belong" there....it had to be a dream....

I don't even know where to start, so I'll just skip around...

"Running through the Garden" was not performed, and I was surprised to hear "Second Hand News." (I couldn't remember if that song was on the original set list or not).

Lindsey TORE UP the place! He is so amazing..."Come" was exquisite! He also delivered on "I'm So Afraid" and "Go Your Own Way"....just like we expect him to!

Right before "Say Goodbye" he gave a moving introduction about how it took so long to have closure with his relationship with Stevie....and she's right there at her microphone smiling, nodding...and how he now has that closure after all these years and how good things are again. I was teary-eyed before the song even started! The delivery was perfection...and so moving.

"Beautiful Child" --- as others have already said --- was flawless. It really did sound like the record. Stevie is Queen -- no question.

I don't know if Stevie was nervous getting started, but her energy did increase as the show went on. You could tell that she thoroughly enjoyed "Stand Back" and "Don't Stop."

I loved her boots --- trademark platforms, but ankle-length with rhinestone-like straps over the top that wrapped underneath them. And as she swished her skirt for many songs we got a peek at (oh my gosh!) Stevie's legs....yes, she is looking good and is as fit as I've ever seen her. And those were definitely rosaries wrapped around her microphone stand...being the good Catholic that I am, I could easily count the individual decades!

Mick is nuts. We all know that! But his drum solo/vest routine was EXCELLENT! He was so into it! Although most of us have seen it before, I thought it was a lot of fun. He really got the crowd to respond.

And I just love John McVie. When Mick introduced him, he seemed almost embarrassed! No need to be embarrassed John...you ROCK! ( BTW, he wore jeans with a white shirt and black vest with his bandana).

I had given my father and stepmother the tickets I had originally purchased before I splurged for my "upgrade," and they couldn't get over the show, either. They said it was the most fun they have ever had at a concert. When we met up after the show, my dad's first words were: "When do we leave for Cleveland?"

And no problems with the cameras, either. I took an entire roll on a disposable camera, and no one bothered me at all.

It was truly an amazing night, and I knew I had to write to you before tomorrow...as it is all fresh in my mind. If I had the money, I would definitely go to another show. Fleetwood Mac RULES!

Angry We HAVE to get Running through the Garden back in the set list

For every concert anyone goes to, you havce to bring signs that say, PLAY RUNNING THROUGH THE GARDEN, or BRING BACK RUNNING THROUGH THE GARDEN or WE WANT RUNNING THROUGH THE GARDEN. And we have to scream it at the top of our longs before the show, and as they come on, and inbetween songs

Her delivery of it on Weds. night was flawless, so I wonder what happened. Alot of us in the front were singing every damn word with her! C'mon guys, play RTTG.

Default Wow.....

Saw the show last night.

I have to agree....that was probably the best show I have ever seen. I can't get over how good they sounded. Ten times better then the Dance tour.

Lindsey is god.

Great review Carlene! Gosh I wish I was there. I am still on my post concert high. I definitly agree this concert surpassed The Dance!
I am sad that they took Running Through the Garden out and replaced it with Second Hand News. I wish they would have put a new song in its place like Thrown Down!! I love this song.

Oh well....onto pics!!! I am so glad they are letting pics!! I just wish I brought mine to Columbus <--sadly regrets...but oh well..I can enjoy everyones!!

Interesting that they're lenient about cameras. Thanks for the review - loved your dad's comment!

I wonder if the camera policy will change once the tour books are available. Photos might cut into the profits. (Personally I'd still buy a tour book.)
