He did pretty well in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of Landslide covers in general, but I'm glad it wasn't a disaster like the last time it was sung on Idol *shudders*.

Thanks 4 posting. I thought he did a great job!
This song will be Stevie's legacy no doubt! Probably even more so than Rhiannon. It just never dies. Timeless classic. |

I have a personal vendetta against people who cover songs I love on talent shows. Don't know what it is. It just doesn't sit well with me because they seem to be under the mistaken opinion that they have something new to a song that reached perfection when it's writer performed it with their own intended and felt emotions. Adding a profound meaning and "sob story" about how your Uncle's Goat just had knee surgery isn't going to win you any fans. It only makes you seem as though you have so little confidence in your own ability that you feel you have nothing to come to you but a pity vote.
Sorry. Tangent. |

I don't really love the way he said "down" at the end, but it was decent.
As an aside, when I used to be a bartender, Steven Tyler came into the bar when we had the Buckingham Nicks CD playing. He commented on it and how much he loved FM. |

I couldn't agree more. In a hundred years, when nobody (except music historians) remembers Rhiannon, Edge Of 17, Sorcerer, etc, people will STILL be singing Landslide...even if they have no clue who wrote it.

). However, the amount of times this song is covered really reflects on how universal a song it is - everyone can relate to it. I agree about it being Stevie's 'legacy'... what's ironic, to me, is that what will probably go down as her remembered work is one that was written before success and at a time when she says she wasn't sure whether or not to continue pursuing music etc. Clearly she made the right choice!

This was horrible. He is way too country, with a twang, and I just hate it. In my opinion, every single cover of this song can burn in hell
Besides the Dixie Chicks version.. that is thee only cover of Landslide that remotely moved me. It's a really great cover if I do say so myself. |

It didn't really like it. Landslide being one of my all time favorite songs I don't really like any covers since I only want to hear Stevie singing it.
He didn't do a bad job though, it could have been worse, minus the way he sang the word down I didn't like that at all.

Tugs at the heartstrings no matter who or where, IMO. Stevie's ballad brilliance on full display every time.

Much better than the Dixie Chicks version! Not a big fan of covers, esp FM/Stevie ones, but this did not bother me. I thought it was sweet and genuine.
