Thanks, I have never seen this before. I think that it is a little out-of-sync also. Even the girls are out-of-sync, which leads me to believe it might be from the conversion from PAL that makes it appear worse then it is. She looks great in red though.

On another note...even though she has not admitted it, I believe that she has at least one more breast implant around this time. Those puppies are HUGH!! She showed them off a lot on the BTM tour also. If you compare how they were in 75 till 90 there is a massive difference. They seem to keep getting bigger throughout the years. Maybe she thought no one would notice. It's like comparing peanuts to watermelons.

I wonder if it's from the weight that she gained, generally speaking bigger girls have bigger boobs so?

But I definitely think they were much bigger... Wasn't one set enough Stevie?

I think her boob's being bigger was a combination of the type of clothes she was wearing showing it off more, as well as the weight gain. A little weight can go along way when it comes to boob size hahaha.

Also, I understand lip-syncing.. but how do you like mime playing an instrument, especially one like the drums? How does that work...do you just play OVER the recording?

It was rumoured she had lipo- suction in her thighs before the release of TOSOTM if it is indeed true that would account for the bigger boobs. The fat has to acumulate somewhere.

Stevie is a proven horribibly bad lip-syncher. I think that is one reason why she prefers to do all of TV performances live. When she went to Europe to promote "The Other Side of the Mirror," she made a TV appearance (I think it was in Germany). It was essentially a canned performance (without her live band), but, tellingly, she, and her background singers) sang live over the studio track. It was the safer choice!

She did 2 TV shows actually. One called Rock Over Europe in Holland and TOTP in London. In Holland she and the b'ground singers sang along with a tape and the one in London was lip synched. She insisted to do the (semi) live performance in Holland because she didn't want to lip synch. I guess she gave in to the Brits.

File this under TMI, but my puppies sure do inflate and deflate quite significantly with my overall fatness, so I wouldn't discount it with SN either.

I have always loved that red sparkle skirt. I think she wore it over a longer chiffon hanky skirt though. Love her in the red outfit.

Is there a video of that other tv show performance?

Actually as far as lip synching goes this is one of her best. I mean, it's a little odd to see her lip synching to a live track but it is certainly better than anything she did in the 80's.

The only thing I saw that was bad was when she completely missed a line toward the end... but I can imagine it's hard to remember everything you did at a particular live recording.

I didn't watch the whole thing but what I saw, everything looked good. But yeah, missing a whole line, LOL ...

There's some respect held for those who lip-synch poorly, from two sources I've read, or heard speak on the topic in interviews. One movie director, of 'The Blues Brothers'-- spoke in the commentary track how hard a time he had filming Aretha Franklin lip-syncing to her song in the film- he said that 'real singers and the best of real singers, every time they sing a song, there's something different about it, they never can sing it exactly the same way twice', because their talent is too spontaneous for them to 'fake it' well, so it's nearly impossible to get a good take of them singing to a pre-recorded track. He said it was a big issue with Aretha, though she is so enjoyable in that movie.- His comments made sense to me at the time.
What I loved about SN and FM concerts the most as a teenager and up until the late 80s, was how SN really varied her lyrics, changed inflections, and had a spontaneous 'wild heart' in her performances- You knew you weren't listening to the record for sure, and at every concert then I heard her being 'in the moment', sometimes going for and reaching incredible notes, sometimes not, perhaps changing the melody a bit, or the key, and you never really knew what to expect. It was part of why you went to see SN in concert!
For a long time, her singing is now better controlled and is generally reliable and good at concerts, which is something to be respected, of course.
70s and 80s Stevie Nicks performances were thrilling, though, in the chances she took that would probably be out of place now- playing it safe and smart has proven to be good business for her year in and year out on the road since '97, and it surely must be better for her voice and endurance during a tour. For the past 15 years, she treats her singing like the serious big business it is- but how I loved the out-there risk-taking SN way back when. It was the time for it, then, and it was great fun to watch and listen to!
Oh, yes- point: Agreed, she never lipped well, as she admits in the CV commentary track.

I remember she was way off in a verse during the video of Stop Draggin My Heart Around...I'd have to look at it again to be sure but I think it was the line "baby you could never look me in the eye"...
