Yeah, I think it's easier being a man...
I was car jacked a few years back while I was kneeling down and putting air in my tire at a gas station. The guy cocked his pistol and stuck it against my temple and demand my keys. That's the only time in my entire life anyone has ever messed with me. It was probably my fault, though... being a dumb male, I didn't have a second thought about putting air in my tire in the middle of Charlotte's ghetto of ghettos. I guess I'm still just plain stupid... being robbed still isn't anything that ever crosses my mind.

Stop being me.
I know, it never occurs to me, that I could get robbed. So, I'm a tight ass. When I go on my frequent trips to Nashville, unless it's pouring down, I walk from my hotel to downtown, about a 20 minute walk. Well, if I cut through this -vacant at night- industrial district, it saves me about 6 blocks of walking. Well, I never will again! So, the first week of January, I'm walking downtown, about 9PM. These four...."guys"(I could add labels, but would probably be called names, for doing so), spread evenly across the street(I was walking down the center, because that's where the best light is), with me in the middle of them. Talk about scared ****less! When the were about 30' from me, I pulled out my phone, and dialed 911, and visibly had my thumb on "send". Now, I can't say for sure that they saw this, but that's the only reason I can figure, that they let me pass. Because there's no doubt in my mind, that they were going to fukc with me.
The other incident, was a week ago Sunday. It was 20 degrees, so I figured the crack dealers would be inside. This time, two of them approached me, on the same stretch of street. I pulled my knife from my pocket, and visibly slung the blade out, and held it out.....and walked between them, with them each about 2' on either side of me.

Yep, I'm NEVER walking through that area, again. Ever.

Today is absolutely horrible. I just found out now that in the early morning hours that, after 4 weeks in ICU, my grandma finally passed on. She was basically being run by machines for these last few weeks and at leas she's in a happier place now

I'm sorry to hear that. And while it's always hard, it does sound like she's in a better place, and her suffering is over.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That is devastating, and although I don't know you at all - my thoughts are with you.

We share similar personalities. Here's an insight into the woman who always inspires me to stay positive.

Thanks for the posts everyone. Like I said, I've already accepted it a few weeks ago, but I'll always have the memories.

In the meantime, I'm feeling a bit down, but here's a vid that never fails to put a smile on my face. (sorry couldn't embed it)
