Default TEC Foundation Guitar Auction is Live

Here's the Rick Turner guitar that Lindsey signed for the TEC foundation, now on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...45#ht_884wt_11

This beautiful, brand new Rick Turner Renaissance M1 Model Guitar was signed personally by Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham at the 26th Annual TEC Awards during the 2011 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA on Friday, January 14.

Too bad the guitar is in the hands of Rick Turner. The buyer might get the guitar by 2014.

Is it worth the estimated $3995 price tag? I mean, yes, Lindsey signed it and everything, but is it a better instrument than, say, a Gibson Les Paul? Of course, knowing me, I would try to play it and then end up rubbing Lindsey's signature off.

Well, the instruments sell for roughly $3k-5k depending on whether you go direct thru Turner or a dealer. For a brand new one, signed by Lindsey, I'd say the price is fair. That particular guitar looks like the "30th Anniversary" Model that Turner made a short run of. As far as being "better" than a Les Paul it just depends on what kind of sound/feel you want. I do think the Turners are better instruments (least of all tonally) than Les Pauls.

His Autograph on my Turner M1 is all but worn off and I used a Permenant Marker. However His Strap is still in great condition and wont wear out.

I laughed when I saw the ebay photo of Lindsey holding the Guitar. LOL
He looked really uncomfortable... I thought.

Good to see him out and about though. We like Lindsey

For any one that is interested the final price of the Auction was $3250. Much Much lower that what i thought it would go for. I thought it would be selling closer to the $5500 mark atleast. Just shows how much of an effect this recession is aving. In 2007 that would haveen been a steal at that price.

Another example is the 59 Gibson Les Paul in 2007 you could have paid over $500,000 for one today you would be lucky to get $200,000 if anyone was selling one that is.

I happened to log in during the last minute of the auction and I was so tempted. But then the angel on my right shoulder convinced me that I didn't need more stuff to complicate my life. Sanity prevailed!
