Indeed. I have zero shame. I go to Austin's nude beach at least once a week when it's warm . I so need to get my body back in shape for that .

I wish I had your outlook, concerning my body. I've always been self conscious, even when I was young. I'm just shy, about how I look.....even though some people have told me that they think I'm hot....I never will....

I mean, I don't think I'm ugly, I just know that I'm far from perfect, and that bugs the sh*t out of me!

Perhaps it's an age thing too? I know that for me I am a lot more chaste than I used to be. I still have more-or-less the same physique I've had since I was in my 20s (arguably leaner and more ripped today), but ever since I turned 40 I have been more inclined to cover up when I go outside. I used to be the first guy to walk around shirtless (along the river, not on the street!) on a hot summer day. But now I wouldn't even wear a tank top in public. Age really does seem to trigger some irrational switches in your brain. It's probably not unlike the tendency for older women to cut their hair short, adopt lots of cats, wear turtlenecks and wear Mom jeans.

I'm so glad to see this thread back! As for sitting on The Ledge while not fully clothed, I'm sure I can speak for every guy here when I say that we've all sat at home, just in boxers, likely hungover, in the morning and assed around online... not that I class talking to Ledgies as "assing around online" but hey...

I have some TMI from this past weekend but I#ll have to think of just how to put it... and I'm at work so have top be careful, haha.

Getting old does suck, indeed! However, I've always been embarrassed by my body. When I was about 8, a neighbor girl was going through pictures, with my Mom... and my Mom showed her one, of me as a naked baby, and I was HORRIFIED. The thought of her seeing my little baby weiner, just embarrassed me, beyond belief.

And now, even....I don't know. Even though I'm considered thin now, I'm still embarrassed ~somewhat~ to be shirtless in the daytime. Last summer, there were many pool parties at my house, with most people being 18-25. My pool was in half the young people's Facebook profiles, in this town! But I look back, at all those pics, and I realize, the difference that just time has made on my body. Even if I weigh the same as them, our bodies are....just different.

Question - can years of weighing considerably more than this, CHANGE the size of my ribcage? Because I feel like my ribcage is too large for the rest of my body, now. And if it did indeed change that, I wonder if years of being thinner, could allow it to return....?

These are the deep issues, that I ponder.

And btw, I've been VERY horny, the past couple of days.

I think I must be the opposite of you and Homer. I was a chunky redheaded kid growing up... and have always been super self conscious about my body. Anyone who was ever a fat kid will always have those nagging feelings hanging over them as an adult. But I actually seem to be getting more comfortable with going shirtless with age. I think I just care less about everything the older I get. It's weird, though... I am pretty self conscious about going shirtless, but I have no problem taking my pants off! I guess nudity is just different for me. I grew up going to the nude beach here in Austin with my parents (I have pot smoking, Harley riding, tequila drinking, old hippie parents)... so nudity has always been a more comfortable thing for me for whatever reason. There's something disarming about nude beaches, too. I think because you just see all types there. No matter who you are, there's somebody who looks better and worse around you. And though the person next to you may have nicer abs, you may have other areas of your body you look better, etc. Nude beaches just teach you that no matter what you've got, it's okay. I find them very empowering personally.

I get that! My pants off is the way I can just grin about things being that bit bigger! Sorry, I went for the obvious line... hehe!
