Default Stand Back and Drum Vest off Set List!

Although we're on the eve of the new tour, I thought I would point out that the band DOES listen to fans.
Most serious Fleetwood Mac fans hate when they do Stand Back.
(Save it for your solo tours Stevie). It reeks of bad 80's excess (and memories of Prince) and thats not what a Fleetwood Mac show should feature to get fans on their feet. It's embarrasing!

Most serious fans found the drum vest solo interesting in 1987.
Most serious fans find it annoying now.
Instead - most fans would love it if Mick would do the pure simple talking drum solo during World Turning that helped to make the early tours so special.

You guys can speak out and get these to 80's clunkers out of this tour for good. Use the internet, use the band's websites, the record company - and get your voices heard!
It's a long tour and the set is bound to be altered by mid summer.

Imagine a loud rocking version of I Don't Want To Know or Crying In the Night instead of Stand Back!

I just opened your post long enough to click "reply".

SOME OF US DON'T WANT TO KNOW SPOILER INFO REGARDING THE SET LIST UNTIL WE SEE THEM OURSELVES!!! CONSEQUENTLY, SOME OF US, INCLUDING ME, ARE SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY TO TRAVEL TO ONE OF THE FIRST SHOWS.

PLEASE EDIT AND REWORD YOUR TOPIC HEADING, TO INDICATE THAT IT CONTAINS SPOILER INFO, NEWBIE!!!

AND THEN SCROLL DOWN AROUND A LITTLE AND SEE MY POST REGARDING SPOILER INFO.

WOW! I consider myself a "serious" Fleetwood mac fan and I love it when Fleetwood Mac does "Stand Back." I STILL say that it gets people on their feet and i've NEVER seen Stevie not be into doing that song. Even on "off nights" Stevie always manages to kick ass on "Stand Back." That song is presented a lot differnet now than it was on record. I find it hard to believe that most fans on here find "Stand Back" to be an embarassment when it is performed live even if they don't necessarily think it needs to be in the set this time. I, for one, am glad to see it, so speak for yourself.

And, actually, I've always found mick's drum solos hilarious, vest or not (especially if you're close. All those faces he makes and the drooling...lol). I'm always entertained by it at least.

So, If I were a "serious" fan and wanted a "serious" show...I don't know, I guess I just wanted to go to have FUN!

BRIAN

I'm confused, what are the spoilers everyone is bitchin' about? There was nothing in that post except some crap about bands listening to listeners, etc... You know it's a foolish post about Fleetwood Mac when it says:

I mean, come on...Fleetwood Mac, alter the set by mid-summer? By mid-summer, that setlist will be set in stone my friend. Lindsey made mention of that in an interview recently, and Mac history suggests once a setlist is tweaked, it stays (at least for the past twenty five years).

Default Say it isn't so..

People seem to be enjoying Stand Back and someone said it's being performed a little differently.

As for the drum solo, hate to burst anyone's bubble but the Knight is reporting that Mick's
"drum solo slap your body spit spectacle" is running 10-15 minutes.
This is one case where I pray he's exaggerating the truth.

I'm bringing a pair of dark sunglasses to my concerts so I can block out this boring side show and not have to leave my seat.

Default ...let's talk AFTER the concert...

...in my humble opinion...you'd have to be pretty hard-hearted...
to not be in such a heavenly mood...to have anything whatsoever
to bitch about...even Mick...who I'd not trust as far as I could throw :^)

Default there was no spoilin' a happenin'

i merely pointed out that most of us music-oriented Fleetwood Mac fans would rather not hear Stand Back or the drum vest solo.
The tours for the white album all the way through the Mirage tour had great simple "real-drums" only solos, and they were - for the most part, pretty spectacular.
So let's try really hard and hold back with the nerdy internet anger and steer this board back to music.

by the way.... i met Mick last summer at a Gillian Welch show (another fantastic musician who has 4 excellent cds out) in LA and he seemed like a very good person. a gentle soul. if anything, he looked like he wondered in from a faraway renaissance festival. my wife noticed he smelled like patchoulli!
yes - he has a business side that likes to make money. but this is america. it's his right to do that. stop being so judgemental people and enjoy his drumming he's been giving us for 30 + years!

To Livia: Cool your jets, breath deep, take a vicadin, just chill. The only thing that was spoiled is your attitude.
