Not usually a band I would give much time to, but this song's sentiment won my heart

By the way, do we have many classic Kylie fans here or do a lot of you from the US just know her, or just became fans, after Can't Get You Out Of My Head did so well? If so you missed so much greatness!
I love Kylie and I'm thrilled she finally decided to tour the US. I just got my tickets to see her here in Las Vegas at Caeser's Palace.

It's definitely one of my life changers too. It was never out of my CD Walkman during sixth form. I was obsessed with her and Billy Joel (Wierd arse combination right there) during those years.

I had hate for Patti for a few years because of the Debbie and Blondie arguments etc with her and things she said. Then I found my copy at a market type thing and bought it because I was just gathering anything punk I could find and when I got home and put it on I kinda tripped. It was weird. I remember lying on my bed and feeling very invisible and very much like I was stood with Patti, reading to her but at the same time going on a journey with each track. I learned to appreciate her for who she is and do what Debbie did and forget the stuff Patti said to/about her and at the same time learned to find and express myself through my pen. I'd love to be able to thank her for that.

Good stuff! I still can't listen to "I'm the One (Reprise)" without getting all misty.

I'm listening to some Jonny Lang. In a bluesy mood these days.

Patti Smith music I am familiar with are the tracks she co-wrote with members of Blue Oyster Cult, before she became famous on her own...

Any recommendations of her own music?

How strange... I just re-discovered this track about a week ago. And I was listening to their "Fire Of Unknown Origin" album earlier.

Since you brought them back to mind.. lol.. now I'm listening to:

"In Thee" - very uncharacteristic of their sound (as are other tracks on their Mirrors album); I really like it though.. has a bit of a Dan Fogelberg vibe
