I have no idea, and I wouldn't be surprised if Camp Stevie doesn't know either at this point. There'll be a lot of factors at play in deciding whether to continue Heart and Soul, and they're probably trying to keep options open at this point.
But if the tour starts off on a King/Taylor trajectory (I don't think it'll reach those levels, but that's what they're aiming for), I don't think they'll part ways in May.

It's debatable whether this partnership is good or bad for Stevie (I'm leaning towards good, at this point). But the person who very definitely loses in all of this? Dave Stewart. The man timed his release to Stevie's and planned on touring with her. Now even if she does tour solo this summer it'll likely be on a smaller scale than it would have been, and publicity leading up to the release will focus on the tour and Rod Stewart involvement.
Although if there's any truth to the rumours, Stevie may decide to ditch Rod earlier than necessary and tour with Dave for reasons more personal than professional.

I highly doubt this tour will last past April. I was surprised that Stevie signed on the be an opening act to begin with, so I believe she is doing this mainly to finance her record. I think her shows back in August helped bring in some cash for making the record and now this Rod tour will help bring in cash to promote the album. Plus, it got her name out there again. But I don't think Stevie is just joining in on this tour for ****s and giggles and would willingly sail on thru June or July promoting her album as an opening act. I also don't think it is going to kill her market for a summer tour. I'm sure her summer tour will start up in late May/early June and will run thru August and all the places she hit with Rod will be the last places she hits again at maybe a smaller venue with lower ticket prices.

Stevie has plenty of money. Funds gained from performing didn't necessarily pay for any recording activity. She did the tour with Rod because a package tour is the only way she would be able to play large venues as a solo act, and receive the commensurate paycheck.

Why would Stevie play at a smaller venue with lower ticket prices? I'm not being flip. Seriously, why? What/where is the indication that she would ever so such a thing? (looking for a more plausible reason than "for the fans/album")

Those of you who think that now that Stevie has album to promote that she'll be hitting every market to tour with it (as if that isn't a concept that died off somewhere around 1995), Rod Stewart be damned, should take a closer look at what happened with 2001's "tour to promote TISL". Shows were being canceled (and not re-scheduled) left and right, while at the same time, shows were being added in markets where she could make the most money (casinos/repeat plays of bigger markets), resulting in a scenario where Stevie barely touched the Midwest.

Stevie does have plenty of money, but why would she ever want to finance her own album out of her pocket? Especially when she has opportunities given to her where she could bring in plenty of money to finance the new album and still give her some profit. I think both last years summer tour and the Rod tour were presented to her and she maybe wasn't initially open to the ideas, but she decided to undertake them so she could offset any money she is having to spend on this album. Granted, she could end up touring with him all summer, I just think she'd rather tour on her own, even if it means she may not make as much money. Why would she play smaller venues with a lower ticket price? Supply and demand. There is a much higher demand for Rod Stewart AND Stevie Nicks because you are drawing fans from both fan bases, therefore they have to play larger venues and have the freedom to charge astronomical prices. But when Stevie tours on her own, there is much less demand. Therefore she doesn't have to freedom to play 20,000 seat venues like MSG. Therefore she'd probably hit a smaller venue, such as a 5000-10,000 seat venue, or even Jones Beach, but the tickets would have to be priced significantly lower than Heart & Soul tour to draw in more people, lower prices= higher demand, and the date would have to be late summer. The tour will definitely affect her market in the summer, but not by any unmanageable means. I'm not saying she's going to rock out at Antone's with $35 tickets

Or she could stay home.

She very well could, but she seems to have a problem staying home even when she has nothing new to promote...

Hmmm... okay... but wouldn't the laws of supply and demand dictate that the larger the supply, i.e., the larger the arena; the lower the demand, i.e., ticket prices? The facts are simply that with the Heart and Soul tour, you're supposedly getting twice the bang for the buck; surely people would have had to pay $100+ for tickets to see them individually, so they're getting about a 25% "package discount." So, yes, inevitably the ticket prices will go down and the venues will get smaller when they tour separately, but that has more to do with getting less product rather than less demand.

I think if/when Stevie does her own solo tour behind the album, she will come back to a number of these markets again, but instead of playing multiple dates within 100-200 miles of each other, she will play one or two. In the greater NYC area, she used to play PNC Bank Arts Center + Atlantic City + Jones Beach + Mohegan. Now I'm thinking she will just hit the casinos in AC and CT and bypass the sheds. She will also go to the markets she skipped, like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, D.C., SF, Seattle/Tacoma, Vegas, St. Louis, Minneapolis, etc. Perhaps places like Kansas City will be skipped the second time around...

Just because she's not touring doesn't mean she's not traveling....

The goal is to reach market equilibrium. There is an excessively overwhelming demand for Stevie Nicks AND Rod Stewart when they are only playing 16 shows, so to lower the demand to something manageable, they have huge venues at higher prices and add a few shows to the places that are selling out. That then affects the market in the areas they play, but people here are making it seem as if Stevie won't be able to tour those general areas again in the summer. All I am saying is she easily can if she tours those places as late as possible, and in the worst case scenario, they may have to drop the ticket prices and play a somewhat smaller venue than normal to increase the demand instead of just skipping NY all together.

I'm not saying anything about her traveling. I'm saying that over the past decade, Stevie has managed to tour every year even if she had nothing new to promote. To think she is going to sit this summer out when she has a brand new album to promote is absurd.

I would be surprised if she didn't tour for In Your Dreams on some scale, but I am not so foolish as to insist that my speculation is definitive and everyone else's is delusional. Even well-informed speculation can still prove groundless depending on changing circumstance - remember the Fleetwood Mac / Eagles tour rumors that came to nothing?

Time will tell.

Well, I must say that in my opinion, its name is very apt.

Everything is speculation at this point, of course... but well-informed speculation based on *certain* circumstance (assuming, say, the two MSG shows go on as planned) has merit.

And you know just as well as I do that the FM/Eagles tour was more than just a rumor.

Did anyone notice how there's a slight ticket price difference in the 2 Hollywood Bowl
shows? It looks like they might have a smaller capacity the second show. Anybody know the deal here?

It just looks like some of the price levels aren't available in the Amex pre-sale, that's all

I've cut & pasted this from one of the tic. ads for the show:

both artists performing all rock & roll sets from their incomparable catalogs of hits and backed by an incredible band of musicians and stage production.

Stage production? Wonder if we will get this Fabulous stage set? As we all know Stevie's set are pretty blah? And thats just fine by me.

Or are they talking about the stage production of the musicians?
