Did she have a throat surgery around this time? (Coke? Strained vocal cords?) Because either it's just me or her voice got progressively worse in the short period between 1981 - 1983. Which is not to say that she "lost" her voice, it's just that much more apparent in her performances from that time period. I still like the performance, but the difference between her 1981 live version of "I Need to Know" and the 1983 performance of the same song is astounding.
