"Lady From The Mountain" is my all time favorite unreleased Stevie song! I'm not going to get my hopes up, though.
I would love love love that too! She actually said she wanted to record it back in 2007 so I've been keeping my fingers crossed! I'd also love Christian or China Doll. Mabel Normand and City Of Hope are also on my list, but I feel they are unlikely. I guess we will see what she pulls out of her hat

It was actually 2009. Kim Stolz with MTV interviewed Stevie in 2009 and the first part of her interview was released and ended with "We'll have more from my interview in the coming days, including her answer to the most burning question of all: "Is it really over between her and Lindsey?" Yes, I got an answer, but you'll have to wait ..." but nothing more from this interview ever surfaced. However, early last year when word got out about Stevie making a new album, Kim tweeted this to Dave Stewart on March 5:

"@DaveStewart I interviewed stevie a year ago and she said she would release another song called lady from the mountain. Is that on it??"

Sweet merciful crap Seriously??? How did I miss this?

Oh Stevie. It had better be a rant!

I'm betting a modern day version of that song would rock my socks. So would Lady From the Mountain!

Three Birds of Rhiannon is my favorite demo, but I also really the moodiness of Lady from the Mountain and I think China Doll is just a good song. Is Anybody There is also a good demo, but kind of coffee house small. I like the edgyness of Cecelia too the darkness of Forest of Black Roses

LFTM, Blue Water, Watchdevil, Mistaken Love & Christian (Spinning Wheels) are 5 songs that (in my humble opinion, of course) Stevie should re-record before she stops making music! Let's PRAY that "In Your Dreams" is not her last record! Hopefully, Dave has lit a fire under her ass to be more prolific in releasing records!

I'd love to hear her record China Doll, City of Hope, Sanctuary, She Loves Him Still, and Something Exquisite... to name a few.

I think she's been sitting up in her
condo with her piano, playing
late into the night. facing NOT
northwest, to where I think is
Point Dune, but facing due freaking
west. to blue water.

and I think she's been playing it.
and so I think it will be in on
Your Dreams.

maybe a closer? not really updated, just refined.
like the Witherspoon beauty and the beast, but much
lighter, you know? heavy pianos, vocals.

blue water.
lady from the mountain, updated

in MY dreams, would be.....
Julia
City of Hope.

and

One More Tomorrow?

Space Needle, Watchdevil, Blue Water and...Cathouse Blues I know that's not hers, but I just adore her vocal on that demo. Oh, and If You Were My Love, and a studio version of Gold and Braid

Does anyone else see the irony in her choosing a ton of old songs for her new CD (as she did for TISL, well, maybe not a ton, but certainly a few) when every time she is interviewed she emphasizes that the most important thing for her is her songwriting? I'm not complaining, because I think her old songs are usually much better than her newer ones. Anyway, I can't wait to see the track listing. How long are we going to have to wait for that?
