They taped the show with Stand Back first and the interview part last - so when you saw it broadcasted - she was actually rushing off after the song so she could go change for the interview portion....

I know! It was funny. "I listened to that for 5 hours a day & learned to ski to that song... I never skiied again."

I want to see the whole interview, will it be available somewhere for me in Europe? I just saw those 2 minutes, where they are talking about how they met etc.

I was wondering about that, because when I was watching UStream last night, I saw her do the interview last. And Then i watched Ellen today, and it wasn't adding up in my mind., Thanks for the confirmation.

Well, now I can understand why Stevie didn't perform the single. Since her and Rod are going on a rock and roll tour, her single is more pop than rock, so Stand Back is a better representation than that, and it will therefore generate more interest for the tour to the casual Stevie fan.

Stevie has plenty of time to build hype for the album, and we only have to wait a few more weeks for the single!

I await it eagerly - apparently the local network affiliate doesn't show Ellen!!!! I watched the clip and I too thought the "I've been around English people" comment was odd. The wine story was cute, though.

Rod Stewart is sure a step down from Don Henley though.

How funny that even though Rod Stewart covered "Stand Back," he said his fave Stevie songs are Leather and Lace and Landslide. They were probably just the first that popped into his head. I think he looked very proud of himself that he could name two of her songs so quickly, which led to him jokingly calling HER out! (At least Rod probably won't be joining her onstage for L&L - because that would make me GAG)

I would not say that Stand Back is exactly rock. More electronica. Edge of Seventeen is rock and from what I heard from the demo, guitars and all, this song is probably more rock than Stand Back.
