Granted, but the fact remains that this is her first solo CD in a decade. I don't think it's the end of her career, but this is a significant moment for her, and it seems like she's wasting one of her last chances to shine as a solo artist.

I can't see her being his opener, though. I really don't think that will happen.

Angry Stevie News: She's Touring With..

This news is very perplexing to me. I first saw Rod in 1970 with the Faces and Stevie and the Mac later. I have seen both numerous times and I am a big fan of both. I can see how this would work and would not work. I do know that Rod did a cover of Stand Back on a CD titled Lead Vocalist. He did a very good job on the cover. I always thought Rod and Stevie should do a duet of it. One possible song together live. I really hope in some ways this does not happen. I do not like to see Rod live anymore because I think he has sold his soul to the devil to continue to perform no integrity. The last time I saw him the show it was terrible. I do not buy his cd’s anymore because of the covers. The ticket price would be outrageous and getting a good seat would be a nightmare. If this happens I will only go to one show and just go see Lindsey for a few more shows.

Rod already has dates in June 2011-06-08 Norwich, United Kingdom Carrow Road
and 2011-06-11 Torun, Poland Motoarena.

I was hoping Stevie would play small theaters again like she has done before. The show in Milwaukee at the Riverside Theater where the Blue Denim video was shot was great.

I don't want to hear her croaking out songs in her 70s. Her voice has already detioriated too much already. That's why I cannot believe she did not put Three Birds of Rhiannon on this album. One of the best demos she's ever had and she's saving it. For what? An album that no one is going to buy because her voice is too bad. She has other songs like China Doll that are good, well-thought-out songs and we are not going to get those either. I hope that Lady from the Mountain and Cecelia are actually on this album. At least, they are atmospheric and evoke a mood.

She is the queen of bad decision making. I think Dave Stewart was a good decision, but she through in this curve ball.

I hope this isn't true. I'm not going that's for sure.

Dave has been asked repeatedly about touring with Stevie, and will not give an answer...If he does it's one of his vague, well that's up to Stevie her management and Warner bros answers...
That's not entirely true... Back in August when Dave was watching Stevie's rehearsals for her August shows, and when it was coming to the surface that his album was going to be coming out roughly the same time as hers, he was asked about the possibility of a tour together with Stevie and he responded with "it's very likely". So he has answered, even thou it's not a confirmation of it happening, he did acknowledge the idea.

He also tweeted this on Aug 30:
"Playing Live here in Brazil was great fun , now I'm addicted and can't wait for the tour with Stevie I'll be a killer support act "

Of course, he could have been joking...

I feel like a LOT of people here are jumping to a LOT of conclusions prematurely, and making some pretty outlandish statements as a result.

What has been confirmed? That Rod and Stevie will be on Ellen (and even that hasn't been *confirmed* officially, per se).

What has, at this point, been nothing but pure speculation?
-That Rod & Stevie are touring together - Since when did we accept "I heard from a friend" statements as being 100% true? I seem to recall that type of "news" to be the first dismissed around here.
-That if there is a tour, that Stevie would be an opener.

Calm down, people. Let's hold off on the "picketing the concerts" and bombarding the NicksFix with our concern for now.

Hey, if it turns out my friend is incorrect, I can take the backlash. Maybe my friend was confused, with Rod and Dave both being Stewarts. That could be possible. I just know, even if he's wrong, that he's not lying ~ he is the sweetest, most sincere person I've ever met, NOT out for attention ~ totally the opposite. But if he's wrong, I don't mind taking the heat, but it's not an intentional hoax, as that blogger claims.

Hopefully, we will know for sure soon!

Did it never occur to you that some of us are joking?! Take some of your own lightening up prescription, my friend!

Hey, it's all cool. I didn't mean to suggest that your friend may be deliberately wrong. I've just, like everyone else, had so much of Stevie toing and froing and never giving any offiicial line that I have decided not to get over excited about anything until we get it from the lady herself officially. It's just too exhausting otherwise and Stevie should really consider that... Ellen looks like a good ooutlet such an announcement, if Rod is on too.

JEEEEEZUS, what a bunch of whiners. Just stay home...that'll open up some tickets for me to go see her & Rod this tour. I've seen Rod the Mod a few times, with & without Faces, enjoyed it immensely each time (although I wouldn't drop the $$ for any of his albums after Unplugged & Seated...or any album that he doesn't have Ron Wood with him) Add Stevie to the bill and that's a plus. Haven't seen her since the Enchanted tour, so I'LL have one helluva good time without you.

Rod Stewart? Blech! I hope he's opening so I can plan to go late. Doesn't Rod do a lot of old standards these days? Snore...

I'd see The Faces (that would be great!), but Rod solo-- no thanks.

As long as Stevie's on the stage, I don't care if she's singing with Kermit the Frog. I am so there!
