Yeah she would!

Doesn't it make much more commercial and musical sense to re-release Buckingham Nicks on CD, and sell it at the merch tables at a Buckingham/Nicks solo tour? For f*ckssake.
THANK YOU.

Respectfully, disagree. Excellent marketing - "Reunited"..."from the Legendary Fleetwood Mac"..."the geniuses behind the hits!"...."For one tour only!" ..."Buckingham Nicks!"

Oh, I wish. Really. I bet they'd be surprised at the support for something like this.

And seriously, Ellen's very own website reads "Rod Stewart" & "Stevie Nicks", if its suppose to be "Dave Stewart" somebody needs to lose there focking job!
I can't find any mention of the Stevie and Rod show on Ellen's site anywhere. They have info on their upcoming shows, but they only have info until Tuesday's show with Richard Simmons.

i wish you are right... wouldn't marketing like that make people wonder - why not get the whole FM? realistically, i don't think that many people know of BN. not that long ago, they did twisted together for a megahit movie, i didn't hear any fanfare about that.

not that it's very accurate, but some facebook statistics for comparison:
rod stewart - 340,816 people like
lindsey buck - 5,271 people like
(stevie nicks - 120,462 people like)
everybody knows who rod stewart is. people rarely know who lindsey is.

this was the link for ellen show from nickslive http://www.locatetv.com/tv/ellen-deg...ason-8/6971387 (although they seem to be griping on twitter that rumor re tour would not be the first hoax posted on the ledge)

Wait a second, and about 200,000 fans of Rod's are from Australia or New Zealand.

Once upon a time, in 1999, an inexplicably yet highly popular & buzzworthy singer/songwriter had the hubris to set out and write a song for Stevie, for inclusion on her upcoming studio album. Miss Nicks had one listen of it, and quickly dispatched the "thanks but no thanks". Shortly after, another fading, veteran artist snatched it up and put it on an album that got appropriately terrible reviews.

Macy Gray wrote the song, "Smitten", and its on Rod Stewart's 2001 album "Human".

The parallels are just too delicious.

Yes, sure - as a solo artist Rod Stewart has a higher profile - but the people that would go see Stevie Nicks would certainly know who Lindsey Buckingham is and vice versa - and be VERY interested in a tour to support a re-release of BN. We're not talking about them reaching NEW fans at this point in their careers are we? 'Cause, honestly I don't think Taylor Swift fans are burnin' up the net trying to keep up with Dave Stewart's (omg who's he?!?!?) tweets about the new Stevie cd/movie/tour...

Well she did let Macy sing on Bombay Sapphire.I listened to "Smitten" at the time and it is pretty bad on probably the worst Rod Stewart album up to 2001 and he had already had some real boners.

Here's another one.

Back when I was e-mailing Russell Mulcahy (director of "Gypsy") back & forth for a part of a larger project that may or may not still happen, Mulcahy gushed over how Stevie couldn't stop emphasizing that she wanted the same kind of dance-oriented video as Rod's "Young Turks" was for "Gypsy". Stevie loved that video.

They go back a long way, people.

Ahh yes, but then Buckingham has developed musically (artistically) over the last 10 years. Rod Stewart has not with his ridiculous "Songbook" releases. So it's more of a question of... the dollar sign versus the art. Dollar sign always wins, so... you're right.

i think we are talking about size of stevie+lindsey audience vs size of stevie+rod audience. all existing audience.

my 7yo is taylor swift/katy perry fan... so not that audience - she wouldn't care about stevie or rod stewart (and she is already annoyed like the rest of my family, with having to listen to lindsey constantly when riding in my car)

young turks, eh?

There was even a rumour that they were an item in the late 1970s and that the blonde woman that he is covering the eyes of with his hand on the cover of his "Blondes Have More Fun" album was Stevie ..it was really his soon to be new wife Alanna Hamilton.
