Never made that connection or the similarities. This is totally possible and I would love it to be true....I just couldn't see past the whole Rod/Stevie combo. Boy if it's true, they are in for a lot of jokes about their singing styles on the road together. The crone and the croak. I KID.

So exciting! I just hope Stevie gets couch time so we can actually get some information and funny banter out of her. A preformance would be nice, but I really am more interested in hearing what she has to say, rather than hear her do Stand Back. I feel like Ellen's people would discourage her doing Stand Back or Landslide, since she just did them the last time she was on her show.

Perhaps Stevie and Rod are going to compare notes about Carol Ann Harris.

I am NOT a Rod Stewart fan. I really hope they are just both coincidentally booked for the same day.

Nonetheless, I can't wait till next Thursday. I'm already thinking of how I can get off work so I don't have to wait till the evening to watch it.

I hope this is the first of many things we hear about Stevie this month.

Default Warners Bros at Work

This TV appearance is most definitely a move by the record company. And while it seems most people on The Ledge are indifferent to it, or don't like it, it actually means the label is very serious about promoting Stevie Nicks, regardless if she sings a standard or not at all.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if she does reveal the name of the CD, and quite possibly might even sing the first single. Yes, it would be very much of of rhythm for her, but again this looks like a marketing move, and it would be odd that she'd be on the Ellen show now and then again when the CD is released. So my money is on her performing something new to get people excited about the upcoming release.

If this is the case, WB must think she has a big song that should be a hit if they can get people to hear it (and not rely initially on radio.)

I just looked and Rod has an album dropping on Feb 1st, so maybe it's just an episode showcasing upcoming releases. Please...

I'm totally with you...this is without a doubt a way to begin turning the gears and promoting Stevie's album. Whether it's Dave Stewart or Rod Stewart that's with her, Dave said on twitter regarding Stevie's album, once 2011 is here, "BOOM", and it looks like he was right!

To me, the only thing that could make this even better if it is indeed Dave Stewart that is appearing with her on the show.

Default Mistake??

I wonder if the Ellen listing is a mistake, and it's not Rod Stewart performing with Stevie, but Dave Stewart? Believe me, a young intern might know the name of Rod Stewart but not Dave, so there could have been a major miscommunication. It happens all the time.

I doubt it's a typo if it's true they are touring together. Why, of all the oldies acts out there, does it have to be Rod Stewart?? Where is Don Henley when you need him?

Hmm I could see this being a typo OR perhaps Rod is performing and Stevie is getting interviewed. Who knows. However, on Ellen's website, they only have info for the shows up until Tuesday, but I bet in a few days we will have a full description and preview available!!

Because Rod and Stevie both have that raspy voice. However, I just don't see them touring together. He is on Sony and she is on WB and he is too busy doing those damn American Songbook albums. Nobody going to a Stevie Nicks concert wants to spend an hour or two listening to Rod Stewart belt out The Great American Songbook rubbish. I don't have a problem with Rod and I actually like some of his stuff, but his cover albums he has been putting out lately are ridic and need not be anywhere near Stevie.

Oy, I need to step away... Until we have more confirmation in way of an official PR release or more details come our way about her Ellen appearance. I sure hope Dave S. tweets some light on these latest rumors soon! The thing is, I just don't see her latest Majik/Wonderland/Annabel Lee/Ghost & Vampire themes gelling with Rod Stewart? No matter if they both are throaty raspy legends of the same generation.
