I had an epiphany last night that Street Angel is one of my favorite albums ever

I think it would be SO SMOKIN HOT if Stevie covered Sweet Jane by the Cowboy Junkies (originally done by Lou Reed and VU).

Anyone agree?

Esp. the whole "Velvet Underground" connection.

Really? What do you love about it? I'm not knocking you or anything, I'm just generally interested, I don't see much value in SA apart from Blue Denim, Greta and Listen to the Rain

I'm now of the opinion that if you replaced Gate and Garden with All The Beautiful Worlds, Wild Heart would be flawless. I've developed an obsession with Enchanted recently, so it's only Gate and Garden that sucks on WH.

I think it's the fact that with every song on there something is off. Aside from the awkward, sometimes horrible, lyrics and production there is something that isn't right. But on the other hand you have some amazing lyrics, and beautiful songs. I really think it can all be summed up in Docklands and Greta because I am obsessed with them lately.

As far as Wild Heart goes, the only song I really don't care for is Gate & Garden. Enchanted can be dull to me at times, but overall it is a good song.

Atta boy! It's got some of Stevie quirkier and more powerful tunes on it. And it's not been played to death by the radio or onstage, either. So it retains an air of freshness I appreciate.

I hope my future epiphany is that Stevie's upcoming album is the best thing she's ever done, ha!

I'll even settle for second best...

Something I've been musing over while listening to Dreams with Deep Dish... if Stevie can still do Falsettos, why is the rest of her high range totally gone? I mean, I don't have a clue about singing or anything, but if she can get that high, why can't she hit the other high notes that aren't as high as a falsetto?

And, no idea where to put this but... I'll never understand why they didn't put this version of That's Alright on the Mirage album, it rocks! Plus, on the actual album version her voice sounds more like Rumours/Tusk Stevie than Gypsy and Straight Back do, while this one is more similar to those two songs vocals

Urban Dictionary:

Fleetwood Enema.

Having cocaine blown up your butt with a straw.

It is rumored that the singer of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, had such a cocaine problem that it ruined the inside of her nose. Instead of kicking the habit, she had people blow cocaine into her ass with a straw.

Man, my nose is completely stuffed up right now but I still want to get high, will you give me a fleetwood enema?

Stevie Nicks:

A Witch who sings like a goat.

fans:Miss Nicks, could you sing a quick Fleetwood Mac for us?

Stevie Nicks: "baaaa baaaa baaaa"

fans: oh wow she was great, she looks great

Some people are so mean

Don't ask me how or why I've come to this conclusion, it just is.
It is a beautiful, heartbreaking song, one of Stevie's best to be sure. It's commonly overlooked in her catalogue due to its familiarity I think, but Dreams has some really emotionally evocative lyrics that flow really well: "Now there you go again you say you want your freedom/ well who am I to keep you down?/ It's only right that you should play the way you feel it/ but listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness, like a heartbeat drives you mad/ in the stillness of remembering what you had, and what you lost."

Sends a chill up my spine!

Thanks for agreeing with me! I too believe it is easily dismissed due to it's familiarity and having been overplayed so much over the years but if you are able to set that aside and pay close attention to the lyrics and music you will be able to hear the brilliance. Even if it is simple, it's also true! At least in my life. I especially love it because of all the changed lyrics/ad libs we've heard throughout the years "... was it ever yours, you know what you lost?". Now some people would LOVE to have her take it out of her set list but it would truly break my heart but I don't think I ever have to worry about that.

Sudden epiphany; Freedom is one of the most awesome songs Stevie ever did, and the whole band look hot here... well. Stevie and Christine do (despite lipsyncing)

I just can't stomach a Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey Buckingham in it. Those two goons who replaced him don't measure up in the least.
