although, i enjoyed billy bob thornton's little OCD story on letterman shortly after zevon's death... but he was clear that they were just acquaintances, living in the same building or something like that. (wow i can't believe i have memorized so much useless stuff...)

But even after those early days, Warren and Lindsey did a bit of work together and from the public perspective, it looked like Lindsey was the one with the continuing relationship with him. That's why I was surprised when Stevie was in the tribute documentary and not Lindsey too. Of course, she may have been closer to Zevon behind the music.

I think Lindsey wasn't very fond of Warren's lifestyle. By the way, I read that incredible "I'll sleep when I'm dead"- book (best rockbio I ever read!), and from that, I'd say that Warren had more with Lindsey musically than with Stevie. But that says nothing about their personal relations.

Yes, I read that book. There was one part where his daughter was running up to him after he'd been on the road and he kind of pushed her away. That stuck with me.

I know we've discussed that passage here where the guy (Eddie Foster?) was asking Lindsey why he would consider joining FM because that would be a step down in pay from what they were making on the road. I think David had a hard time believing that Lindsey was making $400 a week at the time and it certainly conflicts with what Stevie has said about the same time period and the disappointing results of the Everly tour.

It's about time - thanks for posting this! Ridiculous that this hasn't happened already ( and before John's passing ), so good for Lindsey ( and Timothy B. ) for sticking with it!

It would be even better if Lindsey performed at the ceremony

Default another article about kingston trio lifetime grammy

from http://www.coronadonewsca.com/articl...ews/news02.txt (i don't remember reading about kingston trio project in earlier lifetime grammy announcements):

In the summer of 2009, the Kingston Trio Project was formed, to ensure the musical legacy of the group. A book regarding the Trio, the first ever, is in the works and is set to be published this year. In 2012 the Project hopes to have a 2,000 square foot interactive traveling exhibit tour the country. The tour would include academic conferences, oral history gathering, school outreach and performances at each museum site.

The Project includes renowned performers Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, Al Jardine of the Beach Boys, and Timothy Schmitt of The Eagles. The academic side of the music world is represented by Bill Busch, Ron Cohen, Bestor Cram, Gus Russo, Dave Samuelson, Allan Shaw, Michael Taft of the Library of Congress and Michael Frisch, president of the American Oral History Association.
