I hope it's better in NYC for you! I moved to Missouri from PA last January, and it did not get this cold, so I figured I would be better off down here. But apparently not! When I lived in Michigan, my right hand was constantly cracked and bleeding at the knuckles. It was pretty awful - I was a normal modern American, save for one hand that was stuck in the Middle Ages, covered in chilblains. Hooray. ![]()

Long story short:
Something in my heart died last night, one more chip off an already broken heart.

As most of you know, I am from Midland, TX, but I moved to Austin last year to go to school. It never ceases to amaze me that while I am in Austin, all of my friends from Midland go on and on about how omg they miss me! And we need to hang out!!! Yet when I come to Midland, none of my friends hang out with so I end up spending the evening by myself in my mom's house. Why do I even come back here?

I don't know if Stevie would have been able to write these words when she was 15.

It's funny though, because I'm really sort of a loner. I started asking a couple of friends over, and then they started inviting people, and it just SNOWBALLED, into this giant, nightly party, that I barely had any control over. I kept my bedroom locked, and my music room locked, all the time, because there were usually 12 people or so, there, that I didn't even know. Finally, at the end of summer, one of the strangers stole some liquor, and I sort of kept a tighter lid on things, after that. It was really strange for me, though, because like I said, I'm sort of a loner.....and to host parties like that, is just SO NOT ME. But I kind of liked it....it was like a vacation, from being myself! |
