Default Stevie Nicks Signed Tambourine - eBay

Hi there - I apologize (this is my first post on The Ledge) ... but couldn't help but share this very special piece of Stevie memorabilia that I am parting with.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...STRK:MESELX:IT

Here is the description from eBay :

"Stevie Nicks Signed/Autographed AUTHENTIC Tambourine - from the 2001 Reprise Records' "Trouble In Shangri-La" album contest. Included is the original dated and watermarked Reprise contest prize letter. A rare treasure, from a living legend - perfect for an unforgettable holiday gift.

You are bidding on the Stevie Nicks signed Tambourine only. The tambourine measures 10", and is in NM (brand new) condition. Tambourine made by: REMO / PTS. Never used, kept in contest shipment box."

- I hope that it finds a special home this holiday season. ~ JC.

HOLY CRAP. It's expensive. If I had the money, it would be mine.

Very nice! But, realistically you might get $200-300 for it.

I just don't understand how anybody would pay any sort of premium for an autographed item unless they saw the particular celeb sign the item right in front of them. And to me, the autograph is only worth sentimental value... if you were there to experience it. To each their own, though.

i would never pay for an autographed/signed item. if i cant get it on my own, i dont want it. even if i did ever meet Stevie, i dont think id ask for one. maybe a picture together, but why do i need her signature on something? its never made sense to me.

I won a signed Stevie Nicks tambourine from Reprise back in 2001 when Trouble In Shangri-la came out. Hmm I might have to think of selling it -ha! It also came with an autographed booklet as well. I didnt realize stuff signed by her went for that much - geesh!!
The best part about winning that was it came the same day that I was going to see her in concert. It totally made my night!

Post nice but.....

Yeah(I saw it on eaby), it is nice but the price is way too high. I'd say 'years' ago when Stevie stuff was like hot you may get a higher price but not these days. I'd love it myself but with bugets very tight now a days to me unless I can get something for a steal of a price I'd pass on it.....If you don't need the $$ right now I'd just wait. Your lucky to have won something like that......pretty cool. Stevie probably won't do anything like that for the 'new' cd if and when it does come out. Than yet who knows maybe she'll surprise us all.....I guess only time will tell. IMO Stevie stuff just isn't selling at higher prices like it used to. Prices have really went down I'd say in the last 3-5 yrs. Its surprising but its what it is.....anyone else agree??

Prices on all collectible things have gone down the past few years. For instance, I have owned 2 DeLorean cars... their values have gone down almost 50% since the recession started.

It's more complex than that for Stevie and Fleetwood Mac things, though. Back in the late '90s and very early '00s, Stevie and Fleetwood Mac were hot commodities. Since then, they've totally blown their forward momentum by not recording new material or staying connected with their core fans... and thus their paraphernalia prices have tanked.

To me, I'd just never pay for an autographed item unless I saw it autographed with my very eyes. Autographed items are just too easy to fake... and so are "certificates of authenticity."

I agree with you about the FMac/Stevie stuff. Plus theres just nothing exciting on ebay anymore ....not sure about other sites? There used to be such cool rare stuff up and now nothing much even with the Holidays coming.....even if I didn't bid I used to just love to look through all the listings. Its a shame both Mac and Stevie didn't capitalize when they could.....guess I should've gotten rid of some of my stuff when I had the chance now its not worth nothing I guess....bummer really.....plus all the rest of us that collect here......

I think Ebay has as much to do with the falling prices of their merchandise
as their "blown forward momentum". The first years of Ebay were good to
most of us sellers and buyers. Ebay was a lot of fun the first few years, but it
made it so easy for us to buy anything and everything Mac related that the
prices plummeted. Not just for the Mac btw.

HA! They don't sell for that much.

That's cool... I had no idea there was a contest during TISL. I had just joined up on here as well... I must've missed that during those days.

I did win the Reprise contest during SYW and got a signed 12x24 flat of the SYW cover! If i'm not mistaken I think another Ledgie won a similar prize.

I stand corrected.

Still... methinks that was a bunch of bid-crazies, though.

Wow!! I looked up the ad before scrolling down and thought maybe $100-$200, but $725, Damn!! Well, at least shipping was "free".

Grats on your sale though.
