I've only ever listened these following Lindsey songs from Say You Will since I don't own the CD yet:
1. What's the World Coming To 2. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave 5. Peacekeeper 8. Bleed to Love Her Let me just say that I adore these 4 songs. I enjoy listening to them all! & Bleed to Love Her is my all time favorite Lindsey song the world over Murrow is a really great song, I tend to speed in my car when I listen to it for some reason xD |

I actually really enjoy these all, but Say Goodbye sounds like they accidentally left it sped up so on the album its weird, in concert however, amazing.
I'm gonna vote for Peacekeeper cause the lyrics are amazing, it's incredibly catchy and it just sounds so crisp. ![]()

Wow, already on Say You Will! This is one of my absolute favorite albums. However, I will agree that it sounds for the most part like two solo albums morphed together, but the same can be said for Tusk. Murrow is my favorite Lindsey song on here. I would rank them like this:
1. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave 2. Miranda 3. Steal Your Heart Away 4. Red Rover 5. What's The World Coming To 6. Come 7. Bleed To Love Her 8. Say Goodbye 9. Peacekeeper |

He has some great ones and not so great ones. Songs like Right Place To Fade, Gift of Screws and Love Runs Deeper sound like they belong on a FM album. Don't know exactly when he wrote those, but I think he should have used those for Say You Will and tracks like Murrow, Miranda and Peacekeeper could have went on GoS. Just an opinion. Even Wait For You would have worked for the album... FM one that is.

1. What's the World Coming To
Yawn. Talk about starting off on the wrong foot! ![]() 2. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave Very cool, very edgy, hard-driving song. Probably the single most searing guitar solo I've ever heard. But should it have been a Fleetwood Mac song? ![]() 3. Miranda Cute little song. 4. Red Rover I really like this one. It's edgy without being offensive. 5. Peacekeeper This song was infinitely better without Stevie's presence. She ruins it for me. 6. Come I lump this song in with Murrow... it's a tour de force, but did it belong on a Mac album? For what it's worth, it was by far my fav song live when I saw the band on the SYW tour. 7. Steal Your Heart Away This song makes me miss Chris. ![]() 8. Bleed to Love Her I like the cleaned up studio version of this song a lot... but still don't see why it merited inclusion on SYW. 9. Say Goodbye The production of this song is annoying. It was gorgeous live, though. Some of Lindsey's softest, most beautiful sentiments to date are in these lyrics.

Ah, the set of songs from the original GOS sessions… I thought Lindsey was actually quite accurate when he was boasting to John in the DR doc how he knows he has a lot to offer with this group of songs and so he should feel good about it. As mentioned elsewhere, in my opinion songs from GOS sessions are some of the strongest songs Lindsey has ever written, both lyrically and musically. Here’s my breakdown:
1. What's the World Coming To – don’t like this one (was this the only Lindsey song actually written for SYW – and not from GOS sessions?) 2. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave – what a great song! And that turning impression in the chorus – wow! 3. Miranda – I think Miranda is a good song, but I don’t like it as much as some of the other GOS songs on SYW. 4. Red Rover – strong song, great guitar, interesting/weird lyrics (Gods pulling the plug sounds about right!). ![]() 5. Peacekeeper – I remember when this was played on the radio in 2003 , before I knew much about FM beyond that they were this big rock band from the seventies – I though at the time it was a very FM sound with Lindsey and Steve both signing, and I liked it a lot. Thinking back and knowing Rumours-era FM catalog now, it seems like it was a great single to pick at the time – unlike usual FM songs, pretty self–centered on their own problems, this actually sounded like they (well, Lindsey really) opened their eyes to the world around them and provided the song that left an impression it was relevant to what was happening… At the time I really knew just Greatest Hits album that I got after FM seemed to have been so omnipresent with Don’t Stop during Clinton’s presidential campaign, and the prevailing feel of the GH was too slick for my taste . But around the Dance time, I had seen and loved SHN versions from that tour and thought I’d like to find out some more about FM songs beyond the GH album.6. Come – now this is rocking!!: Both the album version (it fit so well where used in Destiny Rules DVD, while sounding so much more rock/heavy than one would expect from a FM song) and the concert versions .7. Steal Your Heart Away – great little song, like it a lot – but completely different from Murrow, Miranda, Come etc. 8. Bleed to Love Her – similar as SYHA but a bit deeper, I may like this one even more. 9. Say Goodbye – what? Lindsey is channeling Julio Iglesias now (especially the slowed down concert version)? After all that rocking with many of his other songs on the album? Yeah, it may be nicely fitting for the whole shipper thing, but... what?So to sum up, I think Lindsey's songs from SYW compared to the most of FM catalog (Rumours-era) are somewhat like somebody wrote in the thread on the Live album comparing differing impressions people would have when hearing perfectly polished FM songs on their albums compared to the more rough rocking versions at their concerts, available on Live. Some people like polished pop-sound more, other people prefer rougher or rockier sound. I'm in the second group, and I think most of Lindsey's songs from SYW are great! It will be hard to choose just one. |

I agree, it's a much better song live. I actually didn't like it till I heard it on Live In Boston and Lindsey's solo Soundstage DVD.

^^ I like these four songs. "What's The World Coming To" sounds like it's dragging a bit. Lindsey's singing sounds a bit lethargic. Last edited by iamnotafraid; 11-21-2010 at 03:30 AM.. |

1. What's the World Coming To
Not too bad... I like the melody and harmonies but it is a bit boring. 2. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave Awesome awesome awesome Love everything about it, the riffs, layered vocals, Chris' oohs, the solo... one of the best guitar songs ever for me.3. Miranda Give me strength... can't stand how this song was produced. 4. Red Rover Love it, taking live Big Love to a whole other level! 5. Peacekeeper Good song, I find myself hitting the skip button as soon as I hear the abysmal "pa pa-pa pa pa pa" kazoo line though... 6. Come Insane! ![]() 7. Steal Your Heart Away Very nice song... not much else to say. 8. Bleed to Love Her I prefer the live version because the harmonies aren't louder than the main melody and there's no overly-long outro solo... but it's one of my top 5 FM songs either way. 9. Say Goodbye Another victim of bad production... not a huge fan... |

Say You Will was a complete surprise to me. I didn't know ahead of time that Fleetwood Mac was working on an album. I was thrilled senseless when I found out.
Quite a few people seem to not think it's a great album. I think it is. Of course, I missed Christine, but I was so happy that Fleetwood Mac was back at work. Hopefully, they'll be back at work soon on a new album together. I love most of Lindsey's songs on the album. I didn't really see why 'Bleed To Love Her' needed redone. Also, the version of 'Steal Your Heart Away' on the Best Buy Tour CD was better than the one on SYW. I think 'Come' is his best song on SYW.

Uh yeah, I never really heard SYW except for a few songs, but I'll go with Peacekeeper and Come from Live in Boston.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and as for Miranda, we all know who that is about, don't we? (and if you don't know, PM me)Last edited by MissLadyLoki; 11-20-2010 at 01:22 PM.. |

1. What's the World Coming To
Great song. The lyrics are devil-may-care & very witty, like a Warren Zevon song. 2. Murrow Turning Over In His Grave A lot of unpleasant noise and stupid musical ideas. 3. Miranda I don't know what to say about this thing. 4. Red Rover I loved this from 2001 through about 2006 or '07. I got sick of it. Still, five years is pretty good shelf life. The rhythm has always confused me--the way the rhythm on GYOW confused the radio DJs in 1976. 5. Peacekeeper Nice song in the solo environment, but the FM-renovated track was murky & sludgy & stodgy & wanky & wooky. 6. Come A lot of unpleasant noise & tastelessness. Critics were calling Lindsey's songs tasteless way back in 1977 ("Never Going Back Again"), but his tastelessness is even older than that. I trace it back to "Lola." 7. Steal Your Heart Away Beautiful folk-rock & my favorite thing here. It's the Kingston Trio & Peter Paul & Mary mixed with the mid-'70s Fleetwood Mac. 8. Bleed to Love Her Pretty song that got enervated & murkified with the Fleetwood Mac studio treatment, unfortunately. 9. Say Goodbye Same as #8.
