4) Slow Dancing
and
5) Street of Dreams

Some bright Ledgie suggested a while back that he might do an acoustic job on Slow Dancing and Tango in the Night. I personally think that's the sexiest idea since sex
Although having seen the two live versions of Go Insane, I'd be really torn between wanting acoustic live versions or a more faithful reproduction of what's on the albums. Oh well, he'll just have to do it twice!

I'm good with him doing Slow Dancing twice

John Mellencamp, on his unplugged album, started out doing an acoustic version of Summer of '69, and then went full on into the more rockin' album version. Lindsey could do that. A very extended intro, and then right to the album version...followed by a full version of the little music box song at the end as icing on the cake!

TITN I'd want just the album version, but with an even bigger solo.

Ooh, now you're taliking...he really could dig deep and surprise us with something like that

Or how about coverin' Warren Zevon's Overdraft. That would be fun live ( is it still a cover, if he actually played on it?? )!!

How about acoustic Walk a Thin Line? There is a version available from some band's blog which is really nice - just voice and the guitar... it should be even better if it was Lindsey's voice, live. I'd actually like that much better that the original Tusk arrangement which I think is kinda syrupy, those u-huhs watering down such a beautiful ballad.

I think I'd like that a lot

Confession: I hated SMAP the first time I heard it on Tusk, and didn't listen to it for a long time but then, after seeing a video of Lindsey playing it live during his UTS tour, I fell in love with it. Such a beautiful song. Sooo, I decided to give the original another listen...and I'm glad I did. Now, it's one of my favorite Lindsey songs - album version and live version, both!

WATL took a little getting used to as well, though I really adore all of Tusk now, and am so glad I gave it a chance! I agree it's a pretty tune, and would be amazing live and acoustic.

I don't like the Tusk version of Save Me a Place, either. It's the only song by Lindsey that I really dislike.

It's interesting that such long time fans had such a problem adjusting to Tusk. It was one of the first albums I ever listened to of Fleetwood Mac's and I took to it instantly. Maybe it's because I'm just as "eccentric" as Lindsey when it comes to my music. Heck, he must have some issue if he thought he could release Bwana on an album and not expect it to raise one titter from a listener. Although I like the song, it absolutely smacks of "Wierd Al Yancovic does Lindsey Buckingham".

I'm actually a pretty new fan. I'm 46, so I've known FM most of my life, but, I was never a true fan...I just liked their songs when they came on the radio. It wasn't until I saw Live in Boston on Palladium HD in summer of 2008 that I became a fan...instantly! Really, I was blown away, and Lindsey's energy level, and talent just blew my mind. So, I started listening to their stuff again. I had the white album and Rumours since they first came out, but never heard TUSK ( heard the song, but not the album ). SMAP I thought was too whiny, but you know, I kinda did what Lindsey talks about in Undergound. I heard 15 seconds and that was enough...same with The Ledge. But then, like I said, after hearing SMAP live, I sat down and gave the whole album a full listen - with good headphones, no less!! That was that...I became a convert

Wow. I actually wouldn't have guessed that about you. You seem like such a seasoned "groupie", for lack of a better term. But I guess, having been a complete Penguin Head for only over three years now, I can see how easy it would be to fool. It amazes me how much I can spout off about the band and their recordings ad lib, much much more so since I joined The Ledge lol. *Smooches Underground for its lovelyness*. It happens alot, that you could hear a piece of music or a band without really hearing it, and then suddenly something clicks and you realise just how much you love it. My Dad used to play TitN all the time in the kitchen downstairs, and it was kind of like background noise. And then suddenly I found myself with my ear to the floor in rapt attention for the entire album. Now I'm hoooked on Mac-ahol

I need to learn to multi-quote or whatever But since I don't have a clue how...

LOL... When you're passionate about something, you learn quickly...that's for sure

I hope my son eventually comes to appreciate FM and Lindsey too. Right now though, it's still definitely background noise!

Mac-aholics!!

I DON"T KNOW!! -

And I swear, Lindsey hooked me first. I mean, FM was a staple, like the Eagles, The Doobies, or The Beatles. I always liked them, but couldn't have told you who the players were...never went to their concerts, or gave them a second thought. Now I'm a groupie Cool...

...and I really do have to leave for that meeting so I'll talk to you all later...
