Aerosmith. Sorry, but I can't stand that skanky band

Also, to quote The Dude: "I hate the f'ing Eagles."

I agree with this, 100%, too.
Steve Perry, in his heyday, best singer ever.

As a musician, I'm forbidden to speak ill of the Beatles, or they come and steal a kidney from me, but, yeah, what you said. (here comes ChiliD, with a scalpel in hand!)

And I agree with David. HATES me some Who.

Steve Perry is incredible!

As for the bands everyone loves but I hate... Beach Boys... ugh. I listened through Pet Sounds once 'cause it's supposed to be one of the greatest albums ever... never again

I know on the BB. I bought Pet Sounds, for the same reason. One listen here, too! That was enough....

I remain firmly convinced that Steve Perry won't go back to Journey, because he can't hit the notes anymore. Do you know HOW MUCH bank they could make, with HIM?
If you watch the Escape Tour dvd, and the Raised on Radio dvd, there was a pretty big change in his vocal quality, in just those few years. If he can't hit the notes anymore, I for one applaud him, for going out on a high note, and leaving his legacy intact. Something some other musicians could take a lesson from(not naming names, clears throat and thinks of a certain band we're all here for).

He did go out on a high note and I'm glad he did! FMac and their vocal quality... Stevie needs to lower her keys, Lindsey needs to lower them less.

Not classic rock but I think Adam Lambert is very close to Perry as far as incredible singers go... John Farnham too.

Face it, you just don't like rock music at all.

I HATE Beethoven...Brahms....Chopin...Mozart...and all those other crass pompous asses who needed 160 musicians to get their points across.

The only reason I'll even give 'em any kind of a chance is because they're dead...and we all know how much I like music by DEAD PEOPLE!

This is an old-ish thread that I've apparently posted on already; I wouldn't take back any of the posts I made on here a year ago. But the list of rock bands that I *do* like would probably be a lot shorter than a list of the ones I don't.

There are a few bands/artists mentioned here that I have mixed feelings on.

U2: I like The Joshua Tree, but that's about it; Bono is incredibly pretentious and annoys the crap out of me.

Springsteen: I pretty much only like Born in the USA, which I know Springsteen fans generally hate. And louie, I agree that he sings like he's really constipated. lol

The Eagles: I like them in theory; if you ask me if I like individual songs of theirs, I'll say yes to most of them. But if you ask me what I think of The Eagles in general, I'll say they're boring as hell. I rarely listen to them.

Somebody mentioned Billy Joel. I can't effing stand him. Oddly, I love Elton John, at least up through 1980.
