Could Lindsey sing some Christine songs if there is another tour?

Pretty much this exactly. It's not that I don't want them to do Chris' songs because I think they should be left untouched, I think it would be pretty interesting to see what they do with her songs. But, for that to happen, that's less of their own material that they can play, and that's material they are more comfortable singing and will sound better. The idea of shoehorning in Chris songs because people want to hear them, regardless of who exactly is performing them, bugs me but the simple fact is a person who isn't a big fan of Fleetwood Mac isn't going to care WHO sings "Say You Love Me", just that it's a Fleetwood Mac song and they went to a Fleetwood Mac concert and it was played. Doesn't mean it SHOULD happen, but I don't think it would be so horrible if it did, just like "Say You Love Me" on Unleashed, imo, was not horrible and "Don't Stop" without Chris is not horrible.

I have to be honest, I think in the case of "Don't Stop," they don't even think of it as a "Chris song" anymore. Obviously she wrote it, but I think they consider Don't Stop to be a "band song" at this point, a signature FM tune...I doubt they think, "oh let's pay homage to Chris and play that old tune of hers." Pretty much, it's going to be part of any FM concert...regardless of who is singing it. On the lines of The Chain and possibly Go Your Own Way.

I've always wanted them each to do one Chris song, rearranged to work for each of them...Lindsey on Hold Me or Little Lies; Stevie on Oh Daddy or Brown Eyes.

I never bought into the fact that Lindsey should only play/sing Lindsey songs, etc. It's great when the 2009 version of Fleetwood Mac starts playing Oh Well, regardless of the opinion that "Peter Green's is better" (of course it was, completely different guitar/voice and uh, it was 40 years ago!). The only thing I don't care for is taking a song like Don't Stop, a sing-a-long song where everyone knows the words, and then Stevie goes and hacks the verse up with grammatically ridiculous wording.

I think you're right. The people who are going to a concert to hear Christine songs are the people who know she won't be in attendance.

Idealy, I hope when they tour again they have new songs to perform, and they completey mix up the set list -- like having Dreams or The Chain at the end of set. Their predicatiblity has become fixed and monotanous. The element of surprise is practically nil!

If they feel the need to include some staple songs they've been performing for 20 years, at the very least, change the order to make it seemingly fresh.

And regarding Christine's songs, I think perfoming "Little Lies," "Brown Eyes," or "Hold Me" would be nice. These are songs that haven't been beatened down and overplayed through the years.

The idea of the mindset/desire to satisfy casual fans who might feel disappointed by the absence of particular songs like "Say You Love Me" or "Don't Stop" perplexes me. The die-hard fans are the ones they (and we) should be thinking about!!! They are an old band with long-time followers -- they don't have to placate and play a mass of casual /new fans --- just put on a good, fresh new show! Casual fans be dammed! If they truely like music and appreciate a great band...A good show is a good show....whatever is performed. It shouldn't be a fu*king juke box....where people expect that that certain songs HAVE to be performed.

If Fleetwood Mac decided to ditch all of their played-to-death material in favor of a bunch of new songs, covers, and deep album tracks...that's the show I'd want to see!!

I don't even think they have to get rid of ALL of the warhorses, but just moving some things around and getting some obscure tunes mixed in would be pretty solid. Imagine something odd like this...I don't think anyone could bitch about the setlist anymore:

I LOVE your choices!! They definitely need to do some more "non-hits." I would also love to hear to some more Lindsey Tusk songs, but that might be more for his solo. And Frozen Love for the closing would be genius. Crystal (with Stevie back up) would also be great; I'm like John, that's my favorite.

Nobody could complain about that. It's not the ultimate fantasy playlist for most people, I think, but it's certainly within the bounds of possibility if the band got brave enough I love your choices, particularly the SYW tracks.

Yeah, I wasn't really going for the "What's the most ultimate fantasy" setlist, but, what's completely a fantasy, but if the band had even a small set of balls, what could they actually pull off.

I covered a ton of bases while still holding to their 23 song formula...

The obscure completely off the wall opener...
The forgotten but somewhat popular...Seven Wonders, Sisters, Blue Letter
The never before played tunes...
The last Rumours tune to never be played live by the Mac...
The Chris covers...
The Buckingham Nicks cover...
The pre-1975 cover...
Each "Rumours era" album represented...
and of course, Dreams, Rhiannon, Tusk, Go Your Own Way, The Chain, Don't Stop, Sara, and I'm So Afraid
