Now over sixty and apparently very blind, according to this thread ... but still extremely cute!

Well it's obvious that the stage lights bother her eyes much more now than before, probably just from aging I would assume. However, bright lights tend to bother my eyes too and I'm 25. And stage lights are nothing to shrug at, they can be very powerful. I just have noticed she blinks a lot on stage now and often sings with her eyes closed or partially closed.

New here, so excuse me for butting in.... ?
It is my understanding that Stevie Nicks was extremely "Far-Sighted" and she could not see hardly at all close up.. She did have a serious problem when she kept her hard contacts in on tour and suffered corneal abrasions on both eyes. That means most times, at least in my personal experience, you cannot wear contacts again. It also means your eyes are very sensitive to light.... She did have corrective surgery which eased the problem, but can in some instances make your eyes even more sensitive to light. If you watch her on Hard Rock Calling, during Landslide, she seems to be having some discomfort and appears to be trying to brush her hair over her glasses to block some of the glare and finally removes them.
The Darker lens she wore at the SWHOF were awfully dark though... Maybe she had more corrective surgery? That was just suggested to me as there are some amazing new lens that can correct to almost 20/20 vision... Or, I understand the show was being filmed to be broadcast later so the lights were even brighter? Hopefully it is nothing bad..!!
I have always thought she does look rather sweet in the aviators though... "_)

We did finally figure out (with some proof which I now can't remember) that her shades are prescription [and not just a fashion statement], and that's likely the reason she wears them so much/indoors, right?

Will guess I'm not the only one with eye problems.Now I need to use a magnaflier to read and work on small electronic parts.Ok I've notice in some photos Stevie was a little cross eyed."lazy eye" which I have.I had an operation when I was little and fixed it alittle .The glasses correct the lazy eye now.

Stevie still looks beautiful with glasses.

I'd never seen the photo of Mary with Stevie in the matching Hotel California teeshirts, sun visors and matching perms! Too funny. Apparently Stevie likes dressing Mary up as her twin (see especially the infamous matching Rhiannon outfits and matching mirror-image poses).

Mary was with Stevie on her appearance on Oprah a couple years back. In the backstage footage Stevie tells Oprah that Mary is her Gayle (reference to Oprah's bff Gayle King)....ie someone who's known her forever, since before she was famous, and tells her the unvarnished truth that maybe no one else will.

She was also at her birthday party concert last year. And Jessica is friends with Mary's daughters. Plus, Mary's daughter Torrey was in the music video for Moonlight.

They're definitely still close friends.

I never knew she had problems with her eyes, but the thing that scared me the most was reading that she damaged her eyes by wearing contacts too long, since it's the same thing I do (I wear it for days without taking it off). I don't know if hard or soft do the same damage, but I'll have laser surgery too in a year or two, so hopefully this stress will end.
I saw that in their 2003 "Say you will tour" Lindsey still accompanied her on stage grabbing her arm, perhaps it was only a matter of habit or a polite way of encouraging her.

It's my belief that Stevie has trouble seeing things up close, such as in reading, but that she now sees pretty well at a distance. (Just like she mentioned in the video John posted) Last october at the Grammy museum event, she needed her glasses to read the music as she played piano. I think she can definitely see people in the first few rows at the shows, especially if the stage lights are reflecting on them.
