Default Will Stevie Meet Her March 1 Release Date?

I think I'll start a poll in the Lindsey thread as well with a related challenge.

But anyway, this seems to be a matter of controversy (given mama's history).

What do y'all think?

Adele just announced that her new album is being released on Feb 22 and that the first single is coming out later this month - so as for Stevie, my guess would be an astounding "No!" given the time frame involved.

I don't think it would be in her best interest to postpone the release date .. especially if she is planning to tour

I'm guessing AFTER cuz it's always after. Not just for Stevie, but for any music artist. They never stick to their drop dates this far in advance.

The fact that Stevie was just a week ago in the studio, and the album JUST went into mixing tells me to expect the release date to be bumped back. Like I've said for nearly a year now, a Fall '11 release date seems most likely given Stevie and Reprise's track record. I do hope I'm wrong, and the whole project can get pulled off in the next 4 months... but I wouldn't count on it. Reprise has to come up with a formula and decide how they're going to market a now 62 year old Stevie Nicks who hasn't released anything in 10 years. There are photo shoots to take place, album artwork to be made, packaging themes to decide on, singles must be chosen, there's a possibility Stevie may still shoot a music vid (though I find this unlikely)... there are just 10 million loose ends to tie up, and I can't see how they'll all get done and be shelf ready in 4 months.

Who knows! I do recall that the photo session for the album cover was done months ago, unless the info was wrong, but it seemed informed.
I think she wants that spring and summer solo tour, so I think she'll have it out in March.
But a delay would totally not be any surprise.
Considering she herself said that she could have had it released "in time for Christmas" but "didn't want to", I think she'll have it out pretty much around March.
One thing that I thought of was maybe Stevie wanted to get either a little work done, or be in the best physical shape she's been in since the 80s, and chose this March release to give herself time to diet and beautify herself one way or another to help sell the cd or just feel great about herself when she is promoting the cd and touring. Chris Lord-Alge (sorry dont want to check the spelling) being involved worries me, nothing against his past work. But I still think they should have mixed it themselves (Stevie and Dave) thrown caution to the wind, and had the album released by now, since it was quickly recorded. She started recording it at the age of 61, and recording was 'completed' in August, she said when promoting 'Not a Tour'.
I think maybe Stevie has some plan for rejuvinating her still already very pretty looks, and that's part of why she didn't put it out this year. Especially if any surgery or dermabrasion is involved, she'd want a few months until after the work was done to really be out in the public eye, so the work won't be as obvious.
While Louie of course may be right, it's my opinion the label doesn't need any time at all to figure out how to promote the cd, as Stevie pretty much calls the shots, anyway, in how she wants to present herself and her music. Lightning will either strike or it won't. I personally felt her chances were better before months of post-production, and in time for holiday sales. Who knows.

Even if Stevie is not too determined to meet the March 1 release date (which, BTW, I think she is determined), I think Dave Stewart will move heaven and earth to get it done. Why? His album is already done, yet he is waiting for Stevie's album so that they can both release their albums at the same time. Given the immense joy and pride he has expressed about his new album, I'll bet he is just chomping at the bit to get it out.

I'm going to go with my crystal visions and say that it'll be on May 1 the 10 th anniversary release date of TISL. That'll give them time to plan packaging and distribution as well as an angle to market. Plus Stevie is into mayian (3, Rolling Stone cover interview 1981), Rumors, TITN and The Dance were all released 10 years apart as Bella Donna and TISL were.

???

Bella Donna and TISL were twenty years apart and Mayian is traditional Punjab wedding rituals? Something I was unaware Stevie was into...

This new album will be 30 years since Bella Donna..

And, Dave has said that his lead single will be released in January, so if her album is mixed within the month, then it is very likely that Stevie's lead single could also be released by the top of 2011 too.

Exactly! I think Dave is going to let Stevie piss around this time because he has his stuff waiting in the wings. I also think that is why we were given a release date of March 1 so soon and so specifically. I think they planned to do both of their albums and tours at the same time so they needed to determine of feasible release date and stick to it. Also, they started back in Feb, so they will have worked on the album for over a year. Ergo, they should have no problem wrapping it up by then. Also, I think Stevie's single will probably drop in Feb. If they release her single too soon, it may catch some ears, but when those ears find out her album isn't coming out for another month or two, they will quickly forget. Unless of course she has two amazing singles that just tear up the charts for the first three months. But I am not holding my breath.

i have a feeling given the other people involved...important people..her getting older...a desire for a spring/summer tour...the gap of 10 /11 years between new material..we will see a single before christmas and album out before spring...being optomistic but times are differnet now...no reasons for the delays like her past albums..EVERYTHING moves very fast now...people are much more impatient..i dont see her doing a video at all...although i would love to see her do one...what video channels show anyone stevie's age in video form?? a damn shame...im 48 and already feel age prejudice
