One of them is way in the past. This one I was in the process of ditching. Sorry for not clarifying.

I shouldn't be looking through the Stevie room thread. I'm getting jealous of everybody's McCollections lol. *pokes her meagre collection*.

We had a great venue here, in Nashville, IN, called the Little Nashville Opry(that's where I saw Restless Heart, and Diamond Rio, many times). It had been there for about 35 years. The owner torched it, a couple of years ago(they have no proof, but it's common knowledge), and it has yet to be rebuilt. There were rumors that Toby Keith was going to invest in rebuilding, but I think that's died off now.....

Dwight? I LOVE Dwight!!! God, I'd love to see him. I've never had the opportunity. Dwight's an extreme rarity. The real deal, among all the stupid Rascal Flatt crap, that's out there!
Oh, if you ever get the chance, see Dwight. He and his band are just fantastic. Too bad he hasn't put anything new out in what, 5 years or so?

I know, right? He's the REAL freaking deal, among a bunch of posers. Every time I check his website, the few dates I've seen, are almost always west coast ones.

JTIS, I just wrote my first album review. Something I never thought I'd do for some reason.

EDIT: Here's the link, as requested http://tinystarbuck.blogspot.com/201...ound-boys.html

Finally some Ledgies that appreciate DWIGHT!

You've got to see him in concert. He's great as Tony would say.

I have pretty much all his music, except for the box set released
some years ago.

And he has put out something within the last 5 years. 2007's
Dwight Sings Buck.

And it's weird timing I saw this Dwight appreciation on the Ledge,
as I just got through playing guitar to Buenas Noches From A
Lonely Room
.

YES. God, I've got to see him, someday....(wanders off to check dates...all TX, NV, and CA )

On that note, I've got a Fender Buck Owens telecaster. Long story, but my friend had an "in", with Buck's personal assistant. When I bought the guitar, new, I contacted her, about getting Buck to autograph it for me. I mailed the pickguard off to him. She wrote me back, that Buck was afraid that Sharpie would rub off, and "would I mind if Buck had it engraved, to me?" Would I freaking MIND??? So he had it engraved, "To David ***** The Twang's the thing July 30, 1999 (typed>) Buck Owens (then autograph engraved) "his signature". I'm not saying he personally held the engraving pen, but the signature matches his other autographs I've got of his, perfectly.
BTW, I offered to reimburse him for any engraving costs, and postage and what not, and she said Buck wouldn't hear of it. That he was glad to be able to do that, for a fan. What.a.class.act.

Well, IMO, there's a right way and a wrong way to go about ditching someone, and forgive me if I'm wrong but, your sms reads as if you'd like to do something other than ditch the surgeon. If you'd like to keep him, and I was in your shoes, I would have definetely approached that sms differently.

It's really hard to explain... point taken, though, but I can't really accurately describe the situation/what I wanted to get across adequately on here.

I just want to say "bravo" to you both for looking out for yourselves. I often tell people that just because you're related to someone doesn't mean you have to subject yourself to their shenanigans. If you wouldn't tolerate it from a friend, acquaintance or stranger, then you don't have to tolerate it just because you happen to share the same gene pool. And it's not bad or wrong to take care of yourself in that way - it's the right thing to do.

My sister is having those sort of issues, drinking and abusing presciption drugs. She keeps expecting everyone in the family to pay for her bills/food while she spends her money on whatever. I don't live in the town she does, but there were times that she would call me up to twenty times a day.She was always asking for money or telling me to call my mom to convince her to give my sister money. If I didn't do what she wanted, she'd hang up on me and spend the rest of the day and night calling and hanging up. After years of putting up with this, I finally said to her 'If you hang up on me again, I'm blocking your number or changing my phone number.' She hung up again, so I did it. Like you feel, I do love my sister, and if it was only me around, I may have put up with it. My husband and son have had this in their lives for far too long.

Funny thing is, he always took his temper out on everyone else in the family. Not me, even though we hung out a couple of days, every week. Well, last summer(a year ago), he started throwing his drunken tantrums at me, screaming and throwing stuff. Lemme tell ya something, you don't yell at Homie! The fourth weekend he did this, I was done. I love him, but I can't tolerate that behavior. So I fired him. He knows I love him, and I spread word, through the family, on WHY I wasn't going to do anything with him, anymore.

Thanks, Zombie! It helps to hear that I'm doing the right thing.

Sounds like I'm not the only one having family/relationship issues. Let me spill mine. I'm in Panama City Beach, FL with my bitchy nagging hateful family and what am I doing? Hiding out from the family and acting just like them. So anywho, my aunt won a free weekend in a big fancy smancy hotelish and she invited everyone she knows to come stay...well guess what? We though she meant it. Everyone of us thought she meant it and we all showed up. Well guess what else? There wasn't any room in the inn for us. Okay fine, I get that but geezzz the drama that followed. Yall got no idea. Just a big hot mess. Foolishness and mayham. I guess it doesn't sound like a big deal based on what all I've told you...but that's exactly why it was out of control- because it wasn't that big of deal.
Wooo I'm feeling better already. I'm sure that compared to some of the issues others have going on this is small. Like teeny tiny small.

Just thought I would share, cause sometimes the more you share the better you feel. muwahhhh.

Okay, time to get my Mac fix before I brave the ol' family.
