Guys, HELP! I've just listened to the Story of Rumours on BBC Radio 2 (some very good interviews but nothing really new) and at the start of the show, about 5-10 mins in at the most, there was a Stevie song on in the background that is not on the album, not on the special edition cd and not one that I know well. I loved what I heard but the DJ kept damn well talking over it! The only line I can remember is "but I will die" or something like that. I know that's not much to go on but can anyone help? It was a big, proper mournful ballad....

It was the second demo for Planets of the Universe. It's on Rumours Disk 2 as were all the versions of the tracks they played tonight

I thought it was Planets but the lyrics were so different than what I know that I guessed I was wrong. That's why I thought that it wasn't on the 2-disc Rumours. Thank you! I have to confess I don't listen to that disc very much at all and so had forgotten about it. I will now!

I often listen to it more than disk 1, in all honesty. I love it being that little bit more raw, y'know? And that Oh Daddy makes me break down.

Awwww yeeeah. I've never actually seen it that cheap. Mine isn't a 'disk' 2 as such, more a 'set of mp3's' 2, so I'll probably buy it too for when I get my sorry ass driving!

Good grief, I'm glad this thread happened. I didn't know that CD even existed.

I heard bits and pieces of the show; it was pretty good even though I knew most of the story already. Still... I think it was interesting to hear Stevie talk about "Never Going Back Again." Instead of perceiving it as a bitter breakup song, she said it was one of the sweetest songs Lindsey had ever written about her. I never thought of it that way, but she's got a point, I think. Indeed he puts his foot down and says repeatedly that he's never goin' back again... but towards the end he backtracks and says "so come down and see me again..." just to show that he didn't really mean it.
Drama! |

There was a part of the show that really made me laugh out loud. Stevie said that "Lindsey wrote a lot of mean songs about me but I know that he didn't mean it, so I can forgive him". Yeah, right! He SO meant it at the time! Of course you would if you'd just broken up with someone!
