^^ That's really disgusting commercial garbage... I sincerely hope Stevie steers far, far clear of such a sound. Admittedly it reminds me very much of the clip we've already heard of Everybody Loves You, though...

Ah come on... give it a chance. I had the same reaction too at first. But I looked past the obvious (hot chick singer writhing around on a yacht) and listened to the production, the instrumentation and the melody. It's not the best piece of music ever recorded, but it is a very solid, very musical, very relevant sound which I think Stevie should try on for size.

I will say, Dave's voice has the affect of Garageband autotune....... Slightly questionable.

I donno, it's just weird for me ...I know Hannibal is fictitious and C.S. is real but for me, watching Anthony Hopkins eat people in one movie and later on play C.S. Lewis....well, I can't explain it, it was just weird for me. C.S. Lewis is eating people? Okay, maybe that means he's just a good actor. It's also kind of like Tom Hanks being Forest Gump who is cast away in space and sleepless in Seattle and getting mail. I'm no Hollywood agent or anything...just saying. Sometimes I get overwhelmed when I see any actor to often
By the way, I cried like a baby at the end of Shadowlands...and you will to.

I have to admit that despite the corny lyrics, I kinda dig this song! Very catchy. And the production is very Dave- strings, acoustic guitars and even some church bell sounds (and a bazouki as well?). And I don't even mind Dave's vocal either; I like it when British singers sing with British accents. Yes, it's a very, very big, commercial/contemporary sound, but I am interested to see Stevie attempting this kind of song. No, I don't want 14 songs like this, but it would definitely be new and different for one or two songs.
Whoa, one of the worst things I've ever heard

I reallyyy hope she sticks with at least semi-rock. Because I would be distraught if she released something so... atrocious.

Buhhh, I wouldn't go as far to say it is awful, even tho the video is pretty horrendous, but it just isn't something I'd want Stevie's album to sound like. But since everyone has been raving about it, either somebody is really lying to Stevie and Dave or her album does not sound like this. My biggest problem is that this song isn't memorable at all. But that being said, I've never heard any of Anna Vissi's stuff, but I'd go to say it pales in comparison to anything Stevie has ever done. Dave has produced some amazing stuff in his career and Stevie has released some amazing stuff. I think they both have the experience and the know how to make some really amazing stuff. I think Stevie likes Dave because he pushes her artistically, but also lets Stevie do what Stevie wants to do and doesn't make her cut tons of stuff out of her songs. I guess time will tell how the new album sounds, but I just think Dave can introduce Stevie into some new amazing stuff and Stevie knows when to tell Dave that isn't "Stevie Nicks". And if not, then she will wait until all the British people go home and then go back in and edit the **** out of it herself.

I think Stevie Nicks should play Charles Dickens

Having once been a cleaning woman (for her producer), Stevie fully understands how debtor's prison can scar, even destroy an entire family. Further, I think the relationship between him and his sisters-in-law is very much like Stevie and Lori.

Ahh, that's why she cites Dickens as the inspiration for the Stevie Nicks Wardrobe.

Anna Vissi's not really a songwriter in the sense that Stevie Nicks or Dave Stewart are. I actually am a fan of her music (and no, I'm not Greek).. but it's in a much different vein than Stevie's (some of my lesser favorite material of Anna's is more European techno-pop; I much prefer her material that blends what's referred to as Greek Laïkó music with modern pop sensibilities).

I do agree this particular song (while not a bad song to me) is not memorable or unique.

They seem to take A LOT of breaks. And since he is the producer, by "final touches" does he mean the album will be fully completed by the end of the month?

This is just my humble speculation...Dave's got 2 weeks off, then he's going to do final touches on the record? Final touches probably include final mixing and mastering, which probably will only take about 2 or 3 weeks (if the rumors are true that they're fast workers). The album sounds like it will be completely finished by Halloween (again, just my humble speculating).

So in the 4 months between Halloween and the projected release date of 3/1/11, what is there to do? Do they give it to the big wigs at Warners, let them listen to it, figure out the three "radio friendly" singles and conjure up a marketing campaign? How long in between these decisions and the release date? Of course also factoring in how long it takes to press a million or so CD's and (hopefully) vinyl.
