Lightbulb before you freak about the tour going bad....

have you guys seen the rehearsal footage of them doing the chain and go your own way...they sounded pretty dam good! Nobody ever sounds that great on those talk shows....ive watched a ton of people sing on those shows and they never sound quite right.

I think the tour will be great! once they hit that arena stage..they will rock. It just has to come back to them.

So true! I can't believe how badly people here are over-reacting. Declaring that you've decided to no longer go to a concert because they sounded bad on a couple of TALK SHOWS, geez.

Case in point: Does anyone remember how wretched Lindsey was on Regis back in '92? Or on any number of talk shows, frankly? And yet his OOTC tour rocked HARD.

I think some people around here need to step back, take a deep breath, and put this all into perspective. But if you've decided to toss your records in the trash bin due to to a couple lackluster performances on talk show soundstages, well - what can I say to counter such flawed logic? This attitude completely stuns me.

In the end, all you hysterical folks who now have decided that you'd rather order delivery from Pizza Hut and watch the Dance at home, well, you're the ones who will be missing out, and I feel sad for you.

I seriously hope you guys are right and in a few weeks we are all laughing about it.

Some of us are just drama queens, I guess.
I wonder where we learned that?
Probably just by osmosis from the grooves in the vinyl.

You also need to step back take a deep breath, and put it into perspective.

I dont think anyone said they're gonna trash their records. I dont think anyone said they're gonna throw away their concert tickets either.

I guess you've missed some of the threads where people have decided to stop playing SYW. In addition, there are SEVERAL posts where people have announced that they won't buy concert tickets. I'm not sitting here trying to make stuff up to make people look bad.

But hey, if they were just kidding, cool. That's what I'm hoping. And I'm glad you don't plan on doing either of things, apparently.

Based on the lackluster that i have seen recently, the AOL performance have had significant post-production. I love the Mac, but they need to just get over it and get on it. Otherwise, its a snooze.

I would NEVER go as far as to trash my beloved abums, boots, memorbilia, and the like, BUT...I would think twice about buying concert tickets if I hadn't already bought them.

From everything that we've seen, it just doesn't look RIGHT NOW like they're going to put on a good show. Like I said, I already bought mine, but if I hadn't, it'd be a gamble. There would be a fifty percent chance it would be good, a fifty percent chance they could be terrible. Why would an average fan want to take that gamble?

And if the shows I'm going to turn out to be as bad as their recent performances, you better believe I'll be asking for my money back a la Creed fans!

Hey you guys if you love the Mac give them a break. Sure they are having some trouble right now. They need our support and encouragment, not all this negitivity.
I know for my self some of the practices I have been through just sucked. But when the time to go infront of people it all came together and was great. Some how the energy from the people give you strenght.
So for you complainers who wished they didn't buy tickets send them to me. I have never seen the Mac, and belive me I would not ever campain about seeing them live. At least I would appreceate them

"recent performances"?? I wouldn't call a 5 minute talk show with no opporunity for momentum and hardly a warmup a real "performance"~not as compared to a 2 1/2 hr concert! and you certainly can't compare the sound froma tv show, using the show's techs, the show's acoustics, and your tv's sound!

people are definitely overreacting.

peace~

Those have pretty much been my thoughts, while reading the recent threads about the appearances on the Today Show and the Tonight Show (still waiting for their appearance on the Mid-Afternoon Show).

It's hard to gauge a band (even a long-running one), by a "cold" performance on a TV show.
They're expected to come out and play a brand new song they've never (or only rarely) done in front of an audience, without any real chance to tune-up, or get their bearings.
I'm not a performer, but I cannot imagine that being very easy.

At any rate, I haven't felt that they've sounded bad at all.
A little off here and there, but nothing that has disappointed me in any major way, or caused me concern about the band's future or the upcoming tour.

I have a feeling that once the tour starts, their performances are gonna be kicking butts and taking names.

Oh my sage Johnny Stew. I agree with you. Although I am still a little miffed at the "value" of the recent performances, I remember the Mac for the last 30 or so years and have no dobut they will be great once the feet hit the flames!!!!!
