Question about picture in the cd liner notes

There's a pic folded inside the liner notes of the cd. It has all four of them in the recording studio and Stevie is singing. What are those two machines behind Lindsay and John? I don't mean the sound board-I know what that is. These are big black machines.

I don't know...

But, I was cracking up about the bottled water on the table (as opposed to bottles of wine, Jack, vodka, mirrors, velvet bags of goodies, etc.) Boy, times have changed, huh??

I was happy to see we own the same clock they had in that photo. There is a white clock to the left of the fireplace... black numbers and hands... the same clock hangs in my kitchen!

Those may be mixing boards, amplifiers or soundboards. I dont have it in front of me so Id have to look... but from memory seemed like a mixing board.

from what I see it appears to be a 48 multi-track mixing board with studio monitors/speakers and behind John (In the corner with the blue lava lamp sitting on top) appears to be his "rack system" for his bass. I wont attempt to guess what is right next to John's bass rack system...

Btw, I see Lindsey wears nearly the same type of shoes that I wear...Slip-ons...lol...Brian J.

I wish I could see a close up of the photo & beautiful drawing on the mantle.

And I agree with Livia... I was LOL at the water bottles. I was looking for the ash trays with the doobies in them practially, lol!

I know, I had to chuckle at those water bottles, too. Going healthy in our old age-

(I can say that because I am their age and not be putting them down in any way=:-)

A far cry from the famous hash brownies. Do you guys know that story?

I was wondering that myself if it was AM or PM. Stevie said they worked in the night usually... although if it was three AM I wouldnt be looking so wonderful as they do.

I thought it was funny on the DATELINE segment how Stevie mentioned how everyone now has "Designer bottles of water" (SEE THE WATER IN THE PHOTO??) and then went on to how it used to be "bottles of coke".

Wonder if she was reading this? hehehe...

And please DO share your story!!!

Stevie said in an interview that I read somewhere that she worked form about 3-7 pm, so I'm thinking it's 3:30pm. About the shoes, I'm so glad to see her toes! And yes, I'd love to know what the drawing on the mantle is, it looks like Stevie. There is also an old photograph on the mantle.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who sat there studying the photo!

I am sort of disappointed there were no boxes of the infamous Wheat Thins.

I was also fascinated with the drawing on the mantle. It was beautiful!

I was looking at her shoes, too! No boots, but sandals! Nice red painted toenails, too - LOL!

I wonder if the drawing on the mantle is a Stevie original as she has been known to pick up a pencil and draw. She has mentioned in interviews how she brings drawings and shawls to decorate her hotel rooms to give them a home-like feel.

Hello all---

I'm cracking up at how much everyone is analyzing the photo!

For my part, I'm wondering about the identity of the mysterious figure on the far right. Looks like a person standing in an adjacent room. Is it Christine in disguise? *grin*

As for the large black cabinet to the side of John's bass rig, it appears to be full of Lindsey's outboard studio gear. I see what look like microphone pre-amps [which basically power the mics], compressors and limiters [these are part of every studio and help even out recorded sounds], rack effects units [reverb, delay, etc.] and more.
