Default Well at least now we know...

That NOBODY that even has anything remotely to with FM reads these boards.

As a fan I am going to really feel ignored if some things aren't different for the next public appearance.

They need to listen to us, really, or they are going to find themselves playing to alot of empty seats this seats summer.

lol I'm glad you made the funny typo Sharon cause otherwise I think I'd be crying This is all so depressing - why are the majority of fans (including me) a bit unhappy. Is it that our expectations are too high? How does the general public feel about their live performances if we are the first to criticise it. Is it just that the big fans are the first to find small faults?
I'm a bit depressed and totally confused. I know it's "not that bad" - but it shouldn't be anything like this, should it!

It's just idiotic that they don't even try to discern our opinions. Sometimes I think they're just completely out of touch with reality. Not everything we discuss is of vital importance, but we do have a lot of good opinions that don't seem to matter for squat.

Hee hee. thank DOR...

I know we should be happy, and part of me really is thrilled about all this I adore this CD, and it such a gift that they put it out, but
what have we been reading for weeks leading up to these appearances?

Lindsey has been saying that they are doing their best work ever, and how edgy they want to be, how they want to appeal to new groups of fans, etc..

Stevie has been talking about getting back to BN and those harmonies and how happy they all are...

Mick has been hoofing it for al it's worth.....

So yes, I expected them to really work it on those high profile shows, you know? I want the Mac to shine cause they rock.

And what have we seen?
Well, not terrible performances, no, but they are saying one thing and doing another. They are not working the stage at all or putting their energy out there. Except for Mick. He was really great, and funny, Mick is not who I am usually looking at, but I found myself looking at him because he seemed to be enjoying himself.

If that's the way it's gonna be, then don't tell us how experiemental and edgy it's going to be, then stand up there like a zombie in boring clothes.

Then, there's article yesterday where Linds is talking about the Dance being all about the money. THIS after he garbled over and over to us in 97 that the FM reunion was mure "pure" and "healing" than that. They weren't like the Eagles, oh no, he assured us.

I guess I am just confused and a litttle disorented by it all.

Where's my FM?

I don't think expectations are too high. We're just amazed at how bad they are lately. I know they could be fabulous because...well..they are fabulous. BUT, they've become tired, boring, out-of-touch, lazy, and despondent. Looking back on the Dateline clip, I'm amazed that Stevie would say that they are magic on stage and for us to wait and see. We waited and THIS is what we see???

If the hardcore fans like us are pouncing on them like this for their bad performances, what does the public think? I don't understand why they would perform like that for everyone to see in the hopes of buying the new album. if I wasn't a big fan, it'd turn me off and running for the hills.

I just want to know what happened. To go from 1997 to this?

I think there MUST be more to the situation that we know. Maybe they are fighting again and that's why Lindsey doesn't care that he sounds bad on Stevie's song, and Stevie doesn't care that she's sleepy and boring during his?

I've been thinking about other times when they've been on talk shows, and this past week really is embarassing when compared to other times. Even when Stevie was forced to perform an awfully boring song like 'Everyday' on talk shows, she really still did give it her all, and she still sang with some passion. Last night she was just listless and apathetic. Granted she was singing in tune, but that really shouldn't be a factor. Someone who people pay 125 to see SHOULD sing in tune!

We all know how spectacular Big Love was on Letterman in 98. Wow! Where did that energy go?

You all should keep in mind... Christine isnt there. The Rock. I mean... she is the graceful tide of the band. Without her presence there... it must be a HUGE adjustment for them & the public. Playing songs she's always been a part of from day 1... its crazy not having her there.

They could be missing their songbird...

Sharon, I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Mick and John were actually stealing the show.

I feel so bad for feeling bad. I want to support them and love them no matter what, but what the hell happened to them since "The Dance"???? Did "The Dance" video just look good b/c there was a lot of post production? I don't get it.

However, I am going to try and remain positive. I'm really thinking that they'll pull it out for the tour! I have faith! I think it's just b/c "Peacekeeper" and "Say You Will" aren't very interesting song to perform live.

Plus, Stevie has now admitted to going through "the change". So, god bless her for going through menopause, going on a forty city tour, and wearing the platform boots! That can't be easy. My aunt is the same age at Stevie and she stopped wearing anything w/ heals a long time ago. So for Stevie to still wear those puppies shows how determined she is to not let down her fans. I also think the dress will be changed for the tour.

Keep your hopes up people! You won't be let down!..........I hope!

Susie

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with them missing Christine. I mean, the album is dynamite without her and they've all been speaking so openly about how this change has been so positive for them and that they could be creatively and musically more free to explore new realms. I don't think that Lindsey and Stevie are fighting either. I just think maybe we expect a lot more out of them than they can give us. I'm starting to believe that the tour is going to be a lot different than what we've been seeing. As I said before, these shows are just as much a rehearsal for them as singing on that soundstage. Once they start getting into the groove of touring, I believe things are going to be fine. At least I hope so...
