Wow, lol. So far I've read in this thread that it's in hopes that Lindsey is sick, Stevie will gain more weight, and that Stevie will go back on sedatives.
Come on guys.....it wasn't *that* bad.... ![]() ~Angela~ |

Angela, don't forget to read the posts from the people who liked the performance.

lol, Tiffany.....Just poking fun. I've complained, too.
But honestly, I think Stevie *looks* great. Wish she'd have worn something more colorful, but oh well. They just need to LIVEN it up some. Okay well, a LOT. At least they sounded better tonight on SYW than they did last night on Peacekeeper. ~Angela~ ![]() |

Bad vocal arrangement for you, Linds.

Maybe Lindsey needs to listen to his own lyrics:

Lindsey's been losing his singing voice for about 3 years. I could tell it was starting to get shaky in 2000 at Stevie's benefit show and was worse at the 2001 event. The New Year's Eve thing last year was not good. I think it's been going downhill from there. He needs to take it down a notch. All the screeching he did over the years killed the high end of his range and now he can't stay in tune. He needs to sing lower and deal with it from there. A vocal coach could have helped but it's a little late now.
The shaky vocals is indicative of the lackluster way the band are presenting themselves on this tour. So far on TV they've looked tired, worn out, and seeming not to care. What's up with this? The whole attitude is out of character. Even in the days when they were too angry, too wasted, or too foolish to know any better, they still seemed to put more thought and care into how they presented themselves. Now it's like...whatever. Both nights on Leno they looked like they just rolled out of bed before going on stage, then proceeded to sleepwalk through the performances. They sure have a lot of work to do in the next 2 weeks to become road ready. |

Good point about the screeching years wrecking his range.
But wouldn't a really big factor with Lindsey's current live performing be that he really hasn't been on the road for five/six years? I don't know, but it seems perhaps the big break they took is catching up with them.

I'm not sure what the problem is. I thought SYW sounded much, much better than PK the night before. But it still started off kinda rough and some of the harmonies were just not right. I thought SYW and PK both sounded pretty good on Today last week, so maybe the sound/acoustics/whatever in Leno's studio aren't up to par. Stevie sounded great, but she looks so, so tired. If she's like this now, how is she going to be when the full blown tour is in swing? I have this fear of cancelled/postponed shows heading our way this summer. (I couldn't care less what she's wearing, as long as she shows up!) I'm really kinda worried about the tour now. I want them to do well, I want them to get great reviews, and I want them to blow me away, but right now, I don't see any of that happening. I guess we'll know more after this weekend. Maybe some reviews of the dress rehearsal can give us an idea of how ready they truly are. I've got my fingers crossed.

I posted this in another thread, I know someone who was at the taping of SYW on Thursday, it was not taped the day before.
If anyone cares to go back and watch SYW again you'll notice that there IS something wrong with the mixing and sound. In the early part of the song Lindsey's voice is coming in ridiculously loud and strange almost drowning out Stevie's voice. This continues and starts to fade down by the middle of the song and by the end when he's singing harmony with her while the band is still playing, you can barely hear him and it's noticeably lower than it was earlier in the song. Lindsey appears to be singing at the same volume but whoever is mixing and controlling the sound and volume of the vocals and instruments clearly changed it by the middle of the song. By the last part where Stevie and Lindsey are singing without anyone on backup and almost no instruments being played, they sounded ok. I posted this yesterday in another thread, there is SOMETHING wrong with the mixing and sound coming from the band. The Jay Leno studio may be a contributing factor, but I think it's a FM problem too |

I don't think it has anything to do with them being unprepared for a tour. If you remember back to the Dance, they only rehearsed for 3 months and were out on the road. I don't believe it has anything to do with getting back into the swing of things after an absence; they hadn't toured together for years before the Dance. And Stevie just came off a tour! I'm really worried, y'all. REALLY WORRIED. |

I just watched it on my Tivo and I thought it was pretty good!
Yes, Lindsey's vocals were a little shaky, but I really liked Stevie's warmth. Yeah, she didn't fly all over the place, but SYW isn't a "fly all over the place" song. It's more like a "lay in the hammock in Hawaii" song.... that's a good thing! I really think Stevie's voice sounded great! |

And I completely agree that the band is presenting themselves as if they are a bunch of patients at a nursing home that should be eating their lunch through a straw. Did you see the AMAs? They were all half asleep sitting on the couch! At least they are all good on the tour. But the general public doesn't know that...

On the first leg, Lindsey rocked and Stevie was mediocre. Quite disappointed that they dropped RTTG and Destiny Rules, but what can we do about it? LOL On the second leg, they both rocked. Stevie was twirling like a maniac during Stand Back. This tour has the most incredible version of Stand Back *ever*, and the same goes for Second Hand News. I think, in general, this tour is all about Lindsey. He shines on every song, he totally loves the attention, and he gets the audience going the most. He's also incredibly energetic and his new songs are highlights. Stevie was much better during the second leg and Beautiful Child is her shining moment at every show. The song SYW is pretty lame in concert, as is Peacekeeper; they both sound very cheesy to these ears. Overall, it's a great tour, but they need to change the setlist PRONTO.
