Another fellow Ear with Feet?

Have you seen this version of Raspberry Swirl?

Excellent Torgasm at the end, and she is SO pretty there. Swirl that little girl!

Oh, most definitely! She and Alanis Morissette helped me to survive High School. What's your favourite Tori song? I can never decide between Raspberry Swirl, Wednesday and Taxi Ride.

That video was excellent! I havn't seen it before but it's definitely going in my favourites playlist. I love her attitude and her "**** with me and I'll **** you right back" stance. Something which I kind of get from you too which I adore :P

Fleetwood Mac's Destiny Rules DVD if it counts. And yes, I'm squeeing at the appropriate moments. Like the Lindsey/Stevie head kiss with the whispered words. What did Lindsey actually say? My heart wants to say "love you" but I sincerely doubt it lol.

The new Kings of Leon single, "Radioactive".

I know a lot of people around here don't love these guys too much but I'm digging this new song a lot and the video is pretty sweet.

Natalie Merchant - Wonder (from Tigerlily, 1995).

Thanks Sahara!

^^

Under the video there should be a button saying 'embed'. Copy the link straight into the text of your post and it should appear. Some videos don't allow you to do this, but most will. Good luck!

Haha, yeah - I've always thought that if there was one thing Miss T and I might have in common, it would be our low tolerances for f*ckery.

But awesome! I've been a devoted Toriphile for ages. I actually saw her on the 5 1/2 Weeks tour with Alanis, but I was never big on Alanis, so I kinda of ignored that part of the show.

I'm glad you liked the video, though! I suggest checking out the rest of the show - you can find the others in the sidebar. Look for the uploads by the same person, since she included all the little stories before each song. The one for Silent All These Years is particularly great - Tori does her Cher/Tina impression.

I don't know if I have a favorite Tori song, because so many different ones speak to me in different ways - Precious Things, Cooling, Honey, Spark, The Waitress, Icicle, Liquid Diamonds, Upside Down, Siren, Here. In My Head, Sugar, Caught a Lite Sneeze, Northern Lad...I could go on and on. It's embarassing, really. My next planned tattoo is a Tori tattoo, based on the brambles bridge in Cooling.

I particularly love this live performance of Doughnut Song. You can hear some of what would later become Apollo's Frock at the beginning, which is awesome. The wail in the "you can tell me" at 4:55 gives me chills every damn time, no matter how many times I've listened to it, lol.

You really shouldn't apologise for the Alanis ignoring. It's in recent years that I realised what a whiny git she can actually be. Honestly, her last album should have been called "Waahhh!" lol. Only need to listen to the final two songs on the Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie album to sum her up. It's almost like a Cat in pain.

I'll do that definitely! It looks like it was an excellent show. And I'm so jealous that you saw her live! I only have a couple of artists worth mentioning under my belt, really. Probably because I have to pay personally for myself/accompaniment tickets as well as hotel rooms, food and travel across the country to the large venues I don't live near lol, so I'm very selective with who I pick.

Those are some great songs of hers, although to be honest Liquid Diamongs and In My Head never really caught on for me. *tries to think of others she likes* Gah. Too many. *thinks* Pretty Good Year, Time, Father Lucifer, Wild Horses (Beautiful cover), Me And A Gun, Silent All These Years, Hey Jupiter and Happy Phantom are wonderful too.

Oooo....Very pretty intro! I adore her fingerwork on the piano. There's something very wintery/snowflakey about her work. I probably don't make sense to anybody but me with that commen though lol.

Yeah, I've actually seen Tori on every tour (except for American Doll Posse, which I had to miss, sadly) since the Plugged tour in 1998. The 5 1/2 Weeks tour was in '99. I remember being all "Bwuh?" when I found out she & Alanis were touring together, because the only thing they have in common, really, is the fact that they're female. Tori is in a class of her own, and she was truly at the top of her game back then.

There was some crossover fan-wise, at the time, but Alanis fans were NOT the same type of people as Tori fans AT ALL, and this caused a lot of really asinine incidents during the tour that Tori had to put up with. The Alanis people tended to be rather... douchecanoe-y... and didn't get what they were seeing, which led to a number of incidents of them being completely disrespectful to Miss T in ridiculous ways.

She handled herself in typical Tori fashion, though, by which I mean with style, grace and a few well-timed insults, but still - it was completely ridiculous. For example, here is her performance of "The Waitress" in Vegas, which was filmed for a Pay Per View special. You'll notice that at about 6:28, she is glaring off camera and flipping someone the bird before popping off with something rather NSFW. This is because some guys in the front row are trying to taunt her, and even though she believes in peace, bitch, Miss T is not going to put up with your f*ckery :

Something similar happened about a month prior at a Massachusetts show when some different douchecanoes, again in the front row area, told her to show them her tits while she was trying to sing "Winter," which she had just dedicated to a girl who had committed suicide. The girl's friends were in the audience and had asked Tori to play it. Sigh.

If you ever get the chance to see her live, though, do it. Seriously. A Tori show is like nothing you've ever experienced before, even though it's not the same as it was back in the day. She means a lot to me for many different reasons, so I never miss a chance to see her if I can humanly help it.

And I get your snowflake comment, no worries. I think she might describe a lot of her playing the same way - she uses winter-y references in her songs so often, it would make sense. Winter, Icicle, Snow Cherries from France, Black Dove (January), Cooling, Cool On Your Island - not counting references in lyrics in other songs, of course. Haha.

Yeah, my Tori fandom is just as rabid as my Stevie or Nick Cave fandoms. I'm such a nerd.

I've been in love with Melanie since I heard her version of Tambourine Man. Animal Crackers is the song that made me fall in love with her, however. Got to love that sense of humour.
