Default uk promotion

so far i haven't seen one bit of promotion in the uk for Say You Will. It isnt released here until Monday (altho iv already got my copy) but still, at this rate nobody will even know it exists. I havent got sky so maybe iv missed some stuff, but to my knowledge there has never been any of the new material played on the radio. Last week I went on the HMV and Virgin website and it doesnt even mention SYW in the new releases (it didnt at the time but it may have been updated by now). Does anybody know of anything that is due to be on tv or radio?

TISL wasn't promoted either so I'm not holding my breath. Radio 2 have been playing Say You Will and mentioning the new album but that's about it.

Of course this makes me even more pessimistic (s/p?) about them touring over here.

Say You Will is at #15 on amazon.co.uk's Hot 100 chart. Not bad. I think it'll do better overall once it's actually released on Monday. The VBoFM has been floating around on the charts for a while now, and that did pretty well when it first came out.

Having said that, the lack of promotion will definitely be damaging...

Laura.

We have had three articles in the broadsheet newpapers on Good Friday, Independent, Times and Guardian.

Uncut Magazine run an article and I believe that Classic Rock magazine are running an article next issue and so will the Daily Mirror newspaper at some point.

Say You Will and Peacekeeper have been released to radio and I believe that Say You Will is being played on Radio Two.

I have no knowledge of any TV promotion at the moment.

Maybe all the UK fans should e-mail their local radio stations and request that the singles are played.

i saw the tv ad for the best of a number of times but only a while after it was released, leading up to Christmas, but it still did quite well in the charts. From my experience, FM are one of those bands who people generally dont constantly rave on about but everyone does seem to like them, so maybe that will be enough. If they tour the UK I can imagine it being quite successful coz they're strong enuff to ride off their previous success. Even the Behind the mask tour was quite huge (didnt they play at wembley stadium?)

the fact that they do not promote this album outside the US is pure stupidity.
behind the mask was a UK #1, and the last time they really promoted an album in the UK (tango in the night) they sold more than 2 million copies there.
why should anyone play it when there's no single release or even a video for the music channels?
do you brits have jay leno on TV? i'm gonna be watching it here tomorrow and on sunday, but this is all the FM TV i'm gonna get here (after missing dateline last week )

Aaaaargh! I bet that means Dateline has already been on CNBC Europe then.

People in Europe with satellite or digital television, check to see whether you have CNBC Europe and then go to:

I don't really know anything about this, but there's airplay for SYW on Radio2.

I missed the 9pm showing on ftn, but Leno is on again at 00:20, so I'm assuming it's a repeat of earlier. So anyone who didn't catch it, set the VCR for 00:20... or if you're an insomniac like me, stay up!

Laura.
