This is what he "tweeted" a few hours ago...
"Playing Live here in Brazil was great fun , now I'm addicted and can't wait for the tour with Stevie I'll be a kil http://twitpic.com/2jn70o" I can only assume the Stevie he's talking about is our own Miss Nicks and that he'll be on board for next year's tour. It could be somebody else though...but here's hoping! |

I've suspected that they will tour together since a couple of tweet's Dave posted back in late July (forget the details) before Stevie's August dates. Dave's new album in post production as is Stevie's I suspect, and his will either be released this fall or in Spring along with Stevie's. So I would not be surprised at all since this is not the 1st time he has sort of intimated that they would be on the road together. I think it's a great idea, and makes perfect sense.

Dave said his album would be available exclusively on vinyl originally. Well, I hope it will also be on CD or downloadable from iTunes, so I can get whatever songs Stevie sings on on his album. I want to PAY for it!!!
![]() Plus, then I'll know some of his songs when he's opening for Stevie!!! (Guessing he's not doing any Eurythmics or Shakespeare's Sister songs? Or that band with that other woman? Or Traveling Wilburys???) ![]() |

I wonder to what extent he'll be touring with her? Just an opening act? Or maybe be like a Don Henley or Sheryl Crow.

Lol now I'm just imagining Dave and Stevie doing Stop Draggin My Heart Around, Leather and Lace, and Two Kinds of Love.

Well, it certainly wouldn't be called "Two Voices 2," since that would imply that Dave Stewart actually has a voice. But I agree- Stevie's gonna come out and sing back-up on a couple of his songs and he's going to come out and play/sing on the new songs in her set. Sounds like a great evening, that is, assuming that Dave's set does not eat into Stevie's set length like Don Henley's.

It would be cool if maybe they tried to do SS's 'Stay', with maybe one of the vocalists like Jana doing the main vocal, and Stevie joining for the "you betta hope and pray..." part. |

Anderson. Oh wait, that's old news right? Show's how current I am with Stevie's bands.
Well, maybe Sharon can warble the verses, and again Stevie comes in with the darker bridge part. |

I like the idea of these two touring together. Dave seems to bring out confidence and creativity in Stevie, to hear her tell it. Maybe this will equate to us getting to hear some wonderful new songs, and perhaps reworking of some old work horses
. It's something different, and I'm game for that! Perhaps much like when she toured with Don, she'll up her game for her shows with Dave. |

"Jana who?" indeed! Maybe things will change by next Spring!
John, Sharon could still do the high shrieky Marcella Detroit part of "Stay", and then Stevie can come in all DEEP and gravelly on Siobhan Fahey's "You better hope and pray that you make it safe back in your own world!" ![]() |

'Stay' was like my theme song in my senior year of college in the early 90's. In and out of romances, never a happy ending. It was the perfect song for dark heartbreak.

"Stay" is like still totally my song. Really brings back high school way before I was deeply into Miss Nicks. I have always owned the CD single and put it in my iPod once I finally got one. Not sure if I want to see Stevie that angry...
