POP MUSIC
Stevie Nicks The great scratchy, smoky voice of '70s rock, who unwittingly inspires hundreds of sartorial decisions in Silver Lake every day, will perform at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Expect lots of fans swaying along to the hits — from the silken gypsy scarf of Fleetwood Mac classic "Rhiannon" to Nicks' 1983 "don't mess with me" jam, "Stand Back." Santa Barbara Bowl, 1122 N. Milpas, Santa Barbara. 7 p.m. (805) 962-7411. $47.50-$127.50. Copyright © 2010, The Los Angeles Times http://www.latimes.com/theguide/even...,3819547.story

around-town events Stevie in Santa Barbara
Ms. Nicks plays her only California date. By ALYSIA GRAY PAINTER Tue, Aug 3, 2010 When Fleetwood Mac rocked through Southern California last year, we think a lot of people collectively vowed to be a bit cooler. Well, we did, anyway. We just see Stevie Nicks and we feel the need to be a bit bolder, have more attitude, with or without the twirling scarves and scrunchy boots. Not sure that we've gained any scrunchy-boot-a-tude over the last year, but we'll all get another chance to see the masterful singer at work. Ms. Nicks is headed for the Santa Barbara Bowl on Wednesday, Aug. 4. It's her only California date listed (though she'll soon be nearby in Nevada on Friday, Aug. 6), and the Independent says Ms. Nicks is donating her take for the night to a young friend who has cancer. This is the magical Ms. Nicks we're talking about here. And that magic doesn't come solely from extravagant costumes or a cavalcade of #1 hits. Get ticket info over at the Nicks Fix. And if you've only ever don the Hollywood Bowl, but not the bowl in Santa Barbara, time to add that to your California concert roster. http://www.nbclosangeles.com/around-...-99903739.html

So I'm just a tad excited about seeing STEVIE TONIGHT!!!!!!! I've had butterflies in my tummy since I woke up this morning. It's funny - even though I've seen her like 12 times live I always get that same feeling before the show knowing I'm going to be the happiest I've been in a long time. Nothing brings me close to the joy I feel when she's standing on the stage singing to me. Tonight is going to be so, so special. I just hope I don't cry the entire show! There's also something special about it being her first solo gig in a while. I'm sure she's just as excited as we are! I'll be here first thing in the morning to give you guys all the details. xoxo
