I'm starting to feel that this album will be Stevie's wholemeal bread album, a truly wholseome experience of ambrosiac music.

)?This is all so much to take in. So exciting! There's too much to say and I'm too lazy to type it, so I am enjoying reading everything you guys say Couple of thoughts in my head are: SOTM should only be performed with FM (JMO) and if she didn't do it on the last tour with them, I doubt she would ever do it solo. I would love though to hear Nightbird, Wild Heart or Gold & Braid. Pretty doubtful As much as Lindsey would rein her in on producing her songs, alittle piece of me hurts everytime I hear her praise Dave Stewart but I have to get over that I guess![]() |

I'm hoping this album is more like a cranberry pecan muligrain artisan bread.

Or better yet, since she is co-writing with Dave Stewart, maybe she'll call it EurythNicks. LOL.

Also as we all know, Stevie is notoriously spacey about her time recollections, For instance the quote , "I pulled songs from 1976 that I don’t know why in the world did not go in the first Fleetwood Mac album", is funny cause the 1st FM self-titled record came out July 1975. And there's the quote about the "Wide Sargrasso Sea" song "It was a crazy movie in the ’80s that I loved. while the movie came out in 1993! (just a few klonopin years off) - I'm just sayin' anything is possible. ![]() Last edited by Christopher; 07-31-2010 at 03:03 PM.. |

Firstly, I sincerely hope this interview is genuine - the link appears to be - but I just can't believe the wealth of information contained within the article, especially the reference to "Annabel Lee" (this blows my mind). I know the demo was kind of plodding but so was the demo for "Thrown Down" and both produced versions (Sheryl's and Lindsey's) turned out brilliantly so I'm sure the same can be done for the musical track. What I love most about "Annabel Lee" are the lyrics and whilst I know they are not her own, they certainly sound as though they could be. Did she paraphrase at all or are they directly lifted from the original Edgar Allen Poe poem?
A couple of points: Quote:
Here's a link regarding the original song title: http://www.bucksmusicgroup.com/compo...usic%20Credits Regarding the song inspired by "Twilight", I just hope that the lyrics are more on the esoteric, cryptic side rather than being too literal - that's where Stevie tends to sometimes fall down. Stevie has been inspired by all manner of things throughout her career and demonstrated a keen skill for delicious vagueness - here's to more of it. |

Maybe she's going to use the once-common trend amongst singer-songwriters and just entitle the album
"Stevie Nicks" Very retro idea. If she loves it in its entirety as much as she seems to, then maybe it needs no title. The last self-titled album was 'Fleetwood Mac' in '75, later known as 'Fleetwood Mac Fleetwood Mac' - So maybe this will be "Stevie Nicks Stevie Nicks" eventually, but will begin titled just as "Stevie Nicks". I kind of like the idea of it being self-titled. Shows a certain faith, security in herself and of the contents. But I also won't be at all surprised if it does get titled! Somehow I think no title is good! Last edited by Nikolaj; 07-31-2010 at 11:18 PM.. |

I thought 'Annabelle Lee" was an interesting-enough demo, it stood out, though certainly wasn't one of her best demos.
You know, all this talk about going back to storage spaces, sending people to go find the old tapes- I bet in more than one case, Stevie, Dave and musicians found some of the lost treasures right on YouTube, there must be 1000 demos there! "Found it in a box after 30 years"... Sure! Found it on YouTube baby! What would she do without her fans? ![]() And her fans 'without her'... Maybe 'Without You' will be one of the very old demos. I love most everyone's wanting 'China Doll'-- it's a beautiful song. A "Rhiannon Movie" song or not , 'Forest of The Black Roses' deserves to be on what is sounding like the quintessential Stevie Nicks album. Just write a new 'Rhiannon' song to take its place, should the dang film ever get made. Last mention I heard of it was when she said in an interview that possibly it could even be an animated film-- My mind went straight to Patsy and Edina of "Absolutely Fabulous"- "A car-tooon?" "A cartoon!!!'' -- when Edina's ex husband was speaking of his long-stalled film project and how positive he felt now that Keanu Reeves had pulled out and it was going to be made as an animated film"-- Then Patsy and Edina had a huge laugh over 'car-toooon?'-- Great episode. I believe it may have been the episode entitled 'Death' in which Edina's dead father's corpse wound up 'just sort of plunked there' in a casket in a room where Edina had a bunch of new art delivered. "But is it art?"- Patsy said of the corpse. (The above 'animation' reference isn't meant at all as a Stevie-bash or to insult her. Just my being a huge AbFab fan, when I read that Stevie mentioned it could even be done as an animated film, I immediately thought of that very funny episode of the British sitcom). Edit: "Buckingham Nicks" could also be considered a self-titled album, though without their first names, not quite, but almost. Last edited by Nikolaj; 07-31-2010 at 11:24 PM.. |
