Default Al Ortiz: "new songs" on tour!

He just posted on Facebook about an hour ago:

"Sittin here goin over Stevie Nicks tunes for the upcoming August tour. Mostly live stuff of the band's passed shows and new songs too. Wow Pretty killin band. Can't wait to see everyone and play some great music. Thank you Stevie."

So, pretty much what we had suspected... not sure if I should have started a new thread or not for this.

I wouldn't necessarily translate "new songs" to mean "songs from Stevie's new album," especially given what Stevie JUST SAID about not wanting to perform songs from the new album because they'd end up on youtube. Stevie could simply be pulling out some oldies she's never played live before, such as Sable On Blonde, and the others she mentioned last year she wanted to play next time she went out to tour.

I know, you read my mind. I sent him a message asking "new album" new, or "tour new" new but didnt get a reply

Agreed, but Stevie says a lot of things..... all it would take is for someone like Dave Stewart to make a comment about trying a new one out on stage and she would think it was the best idea ever

Could be new cover songs also. I almost hope it will be some deep album tracks that she just has never done live as opposed to any of the new songs she's working on. I think I'd rather hear the new songs on the album first before hearing them live.

I'm happy to get "new" songs of either fashion-- whether from a new album or just songs she hasn't played live before. I would DIE if I heard "Sable on Blond" live. DIE.

Either way, I consider this great news!

My thought exactly, a newly performed song is new nonetheless

I'm not even going to see her for any of these shows, but God, I hope that's not the case!

I don't mind them so much, especially when it's a song I don't know like Circle Dance or Face the Promise.

But that's just as good as a new song. Maybe even better. Michele

Yeah, I'm not sure I can even take one more rendition of Rock and Roll, let alone more covers.

Michele
