Strangest things fans have given Stevie

Figures it'd be for his b-day. Now, I recall hearing a story about her a stuffed Snoopy? What's with that?

The Snoopy that first comes to mind is one she gets at the end of the Edge on the HBO special - http://www.metacafe.com/watch/272764..._of_seventeen/ - I think she's gotten other Snoopys, too, though.

She also got a huge unicorn during the Mirage concert.

Stevie & Company may look cool, calm and collected (ha! reference joke!) when this happens, and even crack a joke or two after the stage jumper is dragged away, but you know they have to be nervous, especially if the jumper gets close enough to touch them before security can get there - they don't know what that jumper is going to do, and I am sure they are all well acquainted with crazy fans and the things they have done to different artists in the past . . .

But even if the intent is just to get a hug, that's still wrong. You'd be horrified if a random stranger ran up to you in your workplace or out on the street and just hugged you or tried to kiss you without permission, right?

I agree with you. Can you imagine if everyone who bought a ticket felt the cost of a ticket entitled to jump the stage? Remember that "don't taze me bro!" dude? I say BUZZ 'em if they jump the stage. You can't trust random people's behavior like that.

I gave Stevie a mini top hat during her TISL stop in Portland...she probably thought, "WTH am I going to do with this?"

Haha, taze 'em. I remember that video, too - the "don't taze me, bro!" line is amusing, but I still feel bad for the kid.

She could put it on her doggie!

How about this. At Stevies Boston stop on the TISL tour, the lady next to me gave her a TIFFANY LAMP. After Edge of Seventeen she yelled "thank you for the lamp!" Sheryl Crow later mentioned the gift on the Rosie O Donnell show when asked about the gifts her fans give her.

Stevie tried to pull back, but the girl pulled harder, and since I was standing right there, I could see the look on Stevie's face - she was NOT HAPPY, and yes, she looked a bit scared, too. She didn't yell or freak out, just calmly kept saying, "No, no, no" to the girl, but I yelled at the girl on Stevie's behalf, lol - "Let GO of her!"

That's really scary Stevie's reaction is impressive but I'm sure it was not pleasant for her. This is the kind of behaviour that I fear could put Stevie off continuing her Edge walk. One bad experience that shakes her and that'll be that.

And I'm not saying you can't ever hug your favorite musician (or actor, actress, author, barista at the local Starbucks what makes the best ever latte, or whatever) when presented with the opportunity, but do them the courtesy of asking first and respect their boundaries in the process - I've done that and it works out just fine.

This is a really good point. If I ever got close enough to any of my heros to be in a position to hug them, I'd definitely ask for a hug. I think hugs are great, but not everyone does. The worst they can do is say no, and even then I'm sure they'd appreciate my being considerate.

The story about the roses being sent all the way down the crowd is a gas Aren't fans the best?
