Oohhh the Mirage Rhiannon....that's a good one. However, the first part of the song is a bit rough. Stevie's sounds like crap for a bit...but does she ever make up for it after the solo (which I might add, Lindsey - how about kickin' Rhiannon up again with some guitar work, it's so damn boring now!!!!). I love the "I don't change, you don't change" switch that she did during the Mirage Tour.

Personally, I love when artists mix up their set list from night to night. Take Springsteen, for instance. I've seen him over 50 times and there are still songs I've never heard in concert. The fact that you just don't know what he's going to throw in from night to night keeps it fresh - for me, anyway. FM has so many hits that they can pick from a revolving list if they so desire. However, many artists are not comfortable doing this...I think I read somewhere that Stevie said something to this effect while out on one of her recent solo tours.

I think the reason why the setlist shake up works so well for Springsteen and maybe not for others is because he's been working with the same people for so long, and also rehearses his full catalog of songs. For bands such as FM, who separate for extended periods of time, and also have some different players in their backup band from tour to tour, I can't see how they could insure quality performances each time on songs they rarely have the opportunity to rehearse as a complete entity. Can you imagine Mr. Perfectionist Lindsey allowing a wild card performance?!

I have to agree 100% there. Im a huge dead-head and they did a different set each night. Same with newer jambands like The String Cheese Incident www.stringcheeseincident.com and Dave Matthews Band www.dmb.com - they mix it up night after night. LOVE the variation ++ makes me want to TOUR!

even though I'm not into the jam bands much at all, But I do like to see varied sets (ie-Pearl Jam) instead of a "set" that is very predictable (ie-Paul McCartney)...Brian J.
