Well I have a soft spot for sangria (RED!) since I drink it at least twice a week at my favorite restaurant/bar in the world... I love all wine (seriously, ALL WINE) and most light liquors but I generally steer clear of dark beer and dark liquor. I can deal with light beer but it isn't my drink of choice. I'm all about vodka cranberrys and mojitos.

My favorite is a shot of tequila, straight, no salt, and a lime. I also love sex on the beaches!

Oh yes, I love tequila. Patron silver. No salt, no lime, just straight.

I don't preach to anyone ("Do whatever ya want with yer life") nor should anyone preach to me...that is up to each to decide what to do with their lives, but if ya do something that can cause you harm, don't look for me to show sympathy...I don't play that (I'm awaiting my oldest brother to announce he is dying because of alcohol - that's what he gets for "drinking a 12 pack each and every day before 10am" - As he openly and happily announces to those who really don't get a ****).

Let me clarify, if you want to drink do it at home and dont cause another family grief due to a poor choice you may make (Something I have ALL too often seen living in an area considered as an "Indian Reservation")
You might be surprised to find that our thinking is exactly alike. I just get annoyed at people that lecture me for my "abusing" of my own body (usually I'm done by about four drinks, give or take a couple depending on how I'm feeling), despite my body not affecting anyone else around me. Cheers for the clarification.

That Oliver soft red is too sweet for me. My cousin loves it, and always brings it to my house. I mean, I CAN drink it(it IS alcohol, after all), but again, it's just too sweet. I like my reds to bitch slap me upside the head! Dry and a little bitter!

I had a shot called an Assassin, the other night. Tasted like chocolate. It had Jameson (sp), Bailey's, and a couple of other things(but I didn't see what they were). Tasty!

Shawna Springs is givin' Red Stag a bad name. Kintuckian's ruin everything!

Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais Villages - a beautiful little french red

Louis Jadot Pinot Noir - again a lovely french red great with seafood and poultry.

Franciscan Cabernet Sauvignon - robust and full...pairs wonderfully with beef, game and pork.

I believe a nice fruity red like the Pinot or Beaujolais pairs perfectly with seafood and poultry...and reject the notion that these foods must be paired with a white wine.

mojitos, mojitos, mojitos....GAH LOVE A NICE FRESH ONE!!!!

Mathilde Liqueur Framboise - simply delicious as an apertif or dessert liqueur..

Bailey's over ice or in coffee.

Red Stripe
Heineken
Samuel Adams Summer Ale
Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse
Select 55 lolol...that crap is good!!!!!

This entire list is just absolute perfection.

I liked the beer inclusion because it made me less worried that we were the same person I'm a Blue Moon girl.

I think there's a major difference between enjoying a drink and being a drunk, but I know where you are coming from. I quite enjoy good beer and the occasional mixed drink, but one case of Guinness can sit in my house for months without getting finished.

My mother drank (and drank and drank and drank) and it killed her in one of the more horrific ways I've ever heard about - but not only that...her drinking made her MEAN. So I avoid over-indulging, because there is no way in hell I want to end up like she did, or behave like she did, or get as sick as she did, and you always hear tell that alcoholism runs in families. I don't have any idea of what the "limit" is - like, what's the tipping point for me, where's the line where I cross over from just enjoying a drink to needing a drink? So, for me, it's best to keep it to a very minimal amount.

That said, every year when my kids ask me what I want for Mother's Day (or Christmas, or my birthday, or any other occasion when a gift might be called for), I tell them I want a bourbon IV because they're driving me crazy.

They have yet to cough one up, but a girl can dream...

OMG, you are such a GIRL. If you come visit me some time, I will introduce you to some good fruit lambics. I think you'd dig those (likely not pure lambics or Gueuze lambics, though, as those are quite sour).

Have you ever had Woodchuck Cider? I think you'd dig that, too. Woodchuck is a tasty draft cider. Just don't try the pear, for it tastes like ass.

Margaritas and scotch on rocks are my two favorite poisons, but I will usually try anything.
Not much for beer tho.

I had a German wine once at a nice restaurant that we had gone to in Syracuse for Thanksgiving dinner - I'm probably gonna butcher the spelling but it was something like, "Gewurtztrauminer" - - - YIKE that stuff was good!!! .......
